Oh crap, I think I better rephrase it. My mistake. I shouldn't call it as wireless repeater.

There is no WDS mode (wireless bridging). There is only AP mode via LAN cable. I was saying connecting via LAN cable between two routers and use the AP mode to extend wireless coverage.

But...playing around with the firmware seem to indicate WDS is hidden and might work.........


I wonder if it will work? Problem is = I don't have spare router to test.....

anyone know how to set the TIME flashed AC1200 into wireless bridge mode?

It works as repeater if i cucuk lan cable from my other router into this ac1200. But i dont want the AC1200 to have LAN cable, i want it to be bridge wirelessly.

Currently using Asus RT-AC55UHP (Qualcomm Atheros chipset) as base station, try to WDS to the AC1200 but doesn't seem to work

Things that I've done:
LAN address - Asus is 192.168.1.1, set TP-Link to 192.168.1.2
Set WDS on 5GHz, connect to Asus' SSID
Set to same 5GHz channel on both Asus and TP-Link
Set to same SSID
Disabled DHCP on TP-Link

But unable to connect to TP-link directly

What else can I try? Should i try different SSID?
I am able to access the setup page for TP-Link even though I'm connected to Asus though

Just got my WDS working on 5G by following the guide here, thanks a lot! Is there any way to enable both 2.4G and 5G WDS with the EU firmware?

I have 2 C1200, one in MY firmware using as router & modem and one EU firmware using as repeater. IPV6 disabled. DHCP only on for main router.

I tried using the 5G WDS and it works just fine for my laptop (almost no drop in speed when wired to repeater) but the problem is with my android's wifi connection it's really unstable  . It connects some times but most of time hanging at obtaining ip

I have 4 different SSID the phone can connect to the main SSIDs just fine but not with the repeater's. It can authenticate but just keeps hanging at obtaining ip. Even if I use static ip(tried both inside and outside the dhcp pool) on my android it will connect but no internet . Whereas my laptop seems to connect steadily with the 2.4G, couldn't try with the 5G though

I did some search and some say SSIDs have to be the same for WDS bridging. Is that true  ? Tried to assign same SSID for the 5G wifi but problem still happens with the android. I'm guessing it's a discrete case for my android because I'm using unofficial rom. Will try with other phones and laptop in the future.

Hi guys I'm currently using this firmware (1.0.0 Build 20161115 rel.42795 (EU) ) and my SSID doesn't comes with he '@unifi' behind it.

But there seems to have an updated firmware for my router and I would like to know if the update adds that into it? Or will it maintain the same without it?

guys i have a problem, after setting up WDS on 2nd C1200 router, works well on all mobile phones, but on my TVBOX (Mibox) i am unable to connect to 5ghz WDS router. it says IP configuration failure sometime and connected but no internet. I think its not assigning IP address to the mibox. tvbox supports 5ghz internet.

any idea wats going on here?

Hi all, happy holidays. Hope someone can help me with this. I downloaded and installed the EDIT7 firmware and managed to get the c1200 router to work as AP, with main router using the deco m5. My question is, how do I set the tplink ac1200 AP to designate one of its ports for hypptv? I tried to plug the hypptv to the regular port 4 but the hyyptv won't work. Can someone please advise? Sorry for noob question  🙏

I reset the router as i couldn't access it to flash to openwrt, i have the EU time firmware with the wifi blazing_time however i the default logins dont work.

Different combinations of password for capital and not capital containing time and last 4 characters.

yeah, but the default won't work. This was a TM router i flashed with TIME EU firmware. I know i got it right long ago but i forgot the login.

Ah finally got it.

TIMExxxx (where xxxx is the last 4 characters of mac id). Entire password is capitalised and for some reason wasn't accepted until i tried it with ssh, and then it accepted in the web gui. Also the ssh does not have any limits unlike web gui so you can brute force away.

Anyone know why via wired I get 820 Mbps but using TM router ac1200 I get WiFi of 300 Mbps only?
