TP-Link FAQ website suddenly removed the C1200 EU V1 Beta firmware.
So full firmware will release soon?

Well, the official firmware wifi region still automatically select Germany as default....no option to select other.

Do you think TP-Link will release regional based firmware later?
I think this is for the general testing firmware because of the link http://test.tp-link.com

But I highly doubted that Malaysian version TM will screw with their crappy "@unifi" SSID and other backdoors.

Good job on that.
If you don't mind, can you please explain step-by-step in layman terms?

Extra: Since the previous Beta firmware is the most stable firmware, is it possible to use SSH to modify the annoying 'Beta' background wallpaper?
Then it will solve most of the problems...

Hmm, recently encountered this Chinese site.

https://cyhour.com/750/
(Use google translate)

Apparently, that router has exactly the same silicon hardware as TPLINK C1200 V1 EU.
Not sure if that custom K2P_Merlin firmware might work with C1200. hmm.gif

Any professional guinea pig with TTL cable wanna test?
*
Wah Merlin firmware on C1200?!
Dream do come true.

But then again not everyone know how to sideload via hardware TTL method. Guess until someone can managed to hack the upgrade files then mostly people willing to test it.

Maybe @Alpha_Wolf willing to do it. He offer debricking router service.

Help.
After i connect to 5GHz wds, i cannot access to router settings page anymore.
I try set ip gateway manually but still no avail.

EDIT:
I flashed to US firmware and connect via 5Ghz backhaul. But i still cannot access to the internet and after reboot i lost access to C1200 settings page.
Apparently my host wifi has abnormal gateway and subnet mask address. What correct settings for the C1200 DHCP and ip address?
Attached Image

EDIT 2:
Is it possible to revert back to EU firmware?

Every time I lost access to the router and was unable to get into the router settings page, I would perform a factory reset on my secondary router and start again.

I followed the steps in the order below;

1. Flash to EU firmware (1.1.3 Build 20180502)

2. Refer to the manual Archer_C1200_User_Manual_2016_08_08_3114096.pdf pages 96 and 97

3. Re-connect to the router after following the steps and my internet works
*
Thank you.
But for step 1, unfortunately I'm already flashed to US firmware 1.1.2.
Putting EU firmware 1.1.3 (Beta) in the interface will be rejected.

2. From manual it requires to put Gateway address which is different from root/main router. But from image above, which address should I used?

a) 10.111.191.x
b) 10.111.128.x

I think it's worth to be able to switch EU and US because each region has its own advantage.

EU: stronger 2.4ghz wifi
US: stronger 5.0ghz wifi (only issue is 2 lan led always lights on, cannot turn off via interface)

Gives user some choices.

There seems to be no US beta firmware available openly or when i google search. Perhaps last option will be to contact US tplink support to obtain a beta version.

I thought there's suppose to be a US beta firmware during the Krack vulnerability issue correct?
But that page have been removed unfortunately.

I flashed to the US V1 Beta firmware, then factory restored and tried to flash to EU firmware. It got stuck with a message something like "Upgrade not possible".  bangwall.gif

I even tried from US V1 Beta firmware flash to EU Beta firmware Build 20180101 rel.66049(Beta). Not successful with same message above.

Conclusion : BEWARE! ONCE YOU FLASHED TO US FIRMWARE, THERE IS NO WAY TO GET BACK TO EU FIRMWARE

Well that's a bummer.
Wish the US firmware does not have LED bug or turn it off completely.
It really triggers my OCD.

To change from US to EU firmware (high linux skill required):
- gain root access by enable ssh and usb hotplug method refer https://forum.openwrt.org/t/build-for-tp-li...-ac1200/2547/26
- run "nvrammanager -s" to show nvram layout, take note of "productinfo" and "support-list" partitions
- use "nvrammanager -r" and "nvrammanager -w" to read and rewrite each partition above, change id "00000000" and "55530000" to "45550000"
- reboot and use webgui for uploading EU beta firmware (TM/TIME firmware not working)

Hi.
Nice guide i see here.
Does it mean SSH through wifi?
No need wiring into the router itself?
