Putra Heights, i guess fall under MPSJ jurisdiction correct?
If so, then yes you need neighbour's consent. I did get my neighbour's consent when I started my renovation, as it is part and parcel of the process to get your renovation approval (the letter which you stick on the wall/doors during renovation duration).
Cheers...

Yes, it's under MPSJ. When did U do your reno ? U mean U asked both your left n right neighbours to sign typed letters that they have no objection to your reno and stick both letters to your wall/door ?

Back in 2011, it have been a long time ago, thus it may no longer apply.
Back then, I had a template letter (i believe you can google it) stating that the neighbours allow you to renovate, and both left and right neighbour's consent are required. And this have to be submitted together with technical drawings of the reno (like extension) and other documents to get a renovation permit from MPSJ. That renovation permit is the one you paste on your wall during the duration of the renovation.

However, I just googled that MPSJ no longer need neighbour's consent, but I do NOT know how legit this news is.....
The best way, is to go find out yourself from MPSJ, since they have changed the process in 2017.
