If Condo, apply for permission from maintenance office. no necessary need to inform neighbours, unless you think the work will distrub the neighbours.
If landed, just inform the neighbours, no need to get permission from them. |

Just be considerate. No one likes to hear loud noises at home.
Check to see if there's a baby at home especially since this could be a no. 1 concern. Nego with your neighbours yea? You're going to live there. |

R U sure just need to inform the let and right neighbours ? Last time my neighbour do reno, they gave me a typed letter to sign saying I agree to the renovation of my neighbour. If landed, just inform the neighbours, no need to get permission from them. |

Not only major reno, but even minor reno need local authorities permission. But here, I'm asking about the need to get immediate neighbours' permission to do reno - is this still needed ? Many years ago, when my neighbour did reno, they asked me to sign a typed letter saying I agree to thier reno. |

For condo, usually getting permission from management office will do, and make sure you comply to the designated day and time allowed to do reno. Informing neighbor is based on good will if you feel that your reno is going to affect them

QUOTE(topearn @ Jan 9 2018, 04:20 PM) Putra Heights, i guess fall under MPSJ jurisdiction correct? If so, then yes you need neighbour's consent. I did get my neighbour's consent when I started my renovation, as it is part and parcel of the process to get your renovation approval (the letter which you stick on the wall/doors during renovation duration). Cheers... |

U mean U asked both your left n right neighbours to sign typed letters that they have no objection to your reno and stick both letters to your wall/door ? Back in 2011, it have been a long time ago, thus it may no longer apply.Back then, I had a template letter (i believe you can google it) stating that the neighbours allow you to renovate, and both left and right neighbour's consent are required. And this have to be submitted together with technical drawings of the reno (like extension) and other documents to get a renovation permit from MPSJ. That renovation permit is the one you paste on your wall during the duration of the renovation. However, I just googled that MPSJ no longer need neighbour's consent, but I do NOT know how legit this news is..... The best way, is to go find out yourself from MPSJ, since they have changed the process in 2017. http://www.malaysiasky.net/mpsj-house-reno...pproval-permit/ Cheers.. |
