All in all. Ok la
The ride is good
Then big rear tyre give good balance
Makes me.. More berani laju or corner
It gives confidence

I like the engine
Its effortless
Alway unknowingly went over 100kmh
Even tho im not in a hurry

What else to say.. Er..
Fuel consumption. If full tank. The use until 1 bar remains=van go up to 150km

Maybe with full tank clear habis. Can go 170km

So fuel quite ok la. For the size of its engine

QUOTE(adamhzm90 @ Jan 5 2018, 10:09 AM)
modular?

i read before that it's not really safe. it can broke in the front on impact.

might as well use open face.

Look for honda rs150 also

I didn't choose it personally
Because my house mate honda all spoil within a year

3 of them use yamaha
3 others use Honda

All 3 have something rosak within a year
Whether serious engine related
Or cover set longgar
So i personally decide to pick yahama over honda

But that just me. Maybe honda already rectify its quality issue

So consider that too
On paper, rs150 is a much more superior machine
But that dohc could be a double edge sword

Good to use
Hard to fix

Not all mechanic well versed in dohc

yep, flip up modular, easier for me to do anything, like makan, speaking with others etc..haha.. or during a traffic light stop or slow moving just open face, let my face sejuk sikit.

i bought a few years ago punya, got ls2 forgot what model shubert c3 basic/ this one jual ady.,el cheapo beon helmet..

i also have a few full face helmet. and one of it is shubert sr1 which is the most expensive i bought..500usd that time..huhu.. but then, when riding, i didnt even use fullface anymore..susah..go touring and all..

but i was thinking of givi MX1 Terra flip up for daily use. about 500-600rm.

Im currently using ls2 ff324 metro

yes it is noisy even with all the vent closed (wind got into the sun visor switch at the left side, producing whistling sound into left ear). Added some cotton at the left cheek so it reduces that.

But ultimately it's good for me as I usually ride below 90kmh. Very functional as i can just flip it up whenever it is too hot. The sun visor also covers my view very well as it goes down much more than my previous KYT provent

A little thought on it, I could hit my chin with the helmet's inner side if I stretch my chin. Another youtuber have this problem as well. It may be due to its intermediate oval shaped design rather than the normal elongated modular helmet design (schuberth C3/C4 or LS2 FF325 for example)

Pandai pandai jaga minyak.

Dulu ada kes piston ring pasang terbalik. High rpm makan minyak.

It's a hearsay this was the cause.
Many owners had to open the engine to switch the piston ring position.

KYT helmet is truly cikai.

The screws on the sides that hold the visors keep coming off. I don't know why. I just screwed mine back yesterday night.

modular is like this

commonly the phrase modular and flip-up is used interchangeably and it could mean either one, but i just differentiate it for clarification. you are free to agree or disagree.

but just that a small number of ppl had this one misconception that when they say open face they intended to refer to flip-ups, because well, the face section can be opened up lol. so i want to correct that misunderstanding.

open face is the most common helmet in msia. cheap, simple and easy.

many doesnt have a face shield - think apollo ms88, some old bells and your usual half-shells. these helmets exist just for the sake to fulfill the law requirement of wearing a helmet. safety? yeah if you consider putting on a socks over your dick works just as good as a durex.

those with a face shield, offer some wind and rain protection, and that's all. it is thin, it is flimsy and it opens easily since there are no locking mechanism to hold it down in place in case of crash/impact. it doesnt matter if your helmet is RM30 index or RM2k arai/shoei, as long as it is open face, your face is exposed.

modular/flipup offers a step-up in terms of safety over open face, that's for sure.

with a proper locking hinge, once the facelid is closed down it is more secure than an open face. in case of crash and frontal impact it definitely protects better, but at the same time, offers you conveniences like wearing an open face.

however due to extra moving parts, wear and tear is bound to happen and those hinges will get loose over time, exposing higher risks. there are also risks of parts breaking down due to flimsy quality or just poor design, that is where u hear stories about flip-ups being an unsafe helmet.

so i'd suggest to avoid flipups from cheapo brands and put good money into established brands that has sent their helmet for proper certifications and ratings. shoei neotec, schuberth C3 comes to mind. however it is interesting to note that caberg duke got a pretty good rating while being affordable too.

Last but not least, fullface - this one no need story much. single piece construction for all around protection. less risky than flip up, there is no denying that a cheapo FF still is better than expensive open face. but the same principle applies, buy the best one can afford and try to avoid cheapo brands if possible.

all the best and be safe on the road.
