Seeking out a notebook tomorrow. Have plenty of burning questions. Kindly advise if possible, thank you.

Usage:    Mainly MS Office, for school use / coding, also for watching videos
Graphics: Nvidia MX150 or its AMD equivalent (not keen in anything below eg MX130, GT940M)
CPU:        Gen 8 Core-i5 / its Ryzen equivalent (i7 or its equivalent is ok but prefer i5 due to cost)
Budget:    2-4k
Display:    14 or 15.6 inch, IPS and Full HD (how do I differentiate an entry IPS / high level IPS? In playing high quality BluRay?)
May upgrade to a 256GB SSD / upgrade to 8GB RAM. What's an approximate cost you would estimate (in each case)?

If possible, could you give me some tips on how do you seek out on a good notebook (Cooling, Build, Display etc.) and maintenance tips to last? (my existing ASUS is close to 7 years, working fine except its hinge is broken and dusty)

Models I've taken a look so far (How would they fare? I really like the HP designs but unsure of their quality):

ACER Swift 3
HP Pavilion 15 (I recall ENVY is 13.3" only?)
HP Pavilion 14 (I've only seen MX130 variants on the official site?)
ASUS VivoBook S
ASUS VivoBook Pro (not available in Gen 8 it seems?)

Battery life? What games do you play? What video settings?

I actually don't mind the battery so much, since I will mostly using it at home. I would usually play games like mass effects, witcher 3 or monster hunter world and set settings to high resolution.

prefer support NVME

Yes that's what I mean.
That's not regional warranty. Regional warranty basically mean if you bought in Malaysia ( which is part of SEA), you go other parts of SEA you also get warranty

preferably below 2kg , hopefully 6hours of active usage? with wifi on and normal brightness, not dim the screen and stuff.

I'm not knowledgeable about ultrabook overheating, just hearsay and what I can find on google.

I also found a few laptops with i7-8750H, but I read in other threads that you said it is common in having power and temp problems?

Is the new lenovo legion Y530 (i5,1050ti) suitable for playing modern games such as Assassin Creed,Tomb raider,Dota 2?

If so..,hows the thermal of the laptop?

Highly interested in it as it is only the gaming laptop that has modern look ( slim bezel,no red colour ) in the budget range...

I have 2 laptops in my mind which is the swift 5 and hp envy 13.
Which one would be better? Battery, Spec and Speaker?

Prefer light laptop and not for gaming purpose.

Yah budget around there. Swift 5 can get ard 3.3k and envy can get at 3.2k.

1. Budget : RM4k~RM4.5k (or higher also can)

2. Usage  : 3D modeling n render -Sketchup, Revit (master in architecture-next yr)
  Graphic design & photo edit - Lightroom, Adobe PS & AI
  Simple video editing- Premier Pro
  Gaming- Only Dota 2 (sadly no time for other game)

3. Requirements : Display size - 17"/15" (Might get monitor)
  Colour accuracy - (at least average rating)
  Less cooling problem
  Doesn't matter for the weight & battery life & appearance
Previously have looked upon MSI GL63 Series i7-7700hq & 1050 Ti, which around 4k, but saw there's i7-8750 with almost same price.

While my friend convincing me to go for Acer Helios 300 with GTX1060 with around 4.6k (sounds attractive), but heard of it's overheating + colour issue. Plus 1060 might be overkill for my current usage.

Will it worth it if i wait for the newer GPU/CPU or buy laptop before SST? Still can wait until next yr Jun/July.

Appreciate if there's any same tier/ better model can be suggested

got any significant difference mou? or little difference only? with undervolt , i manage to keep temp below 64 under full load. without undervolt, it can go up till 85.

waa. full load and gaming at temp under 50? any example link on the liquid metal?
