I recently sent my Apple Watch Series 0 due to expanded battery.  Due to apple announcing that they are supporting series 0 and series 1 watches up to 3 years from purchase instead of 1.

Since they dont have anymore series 0 watches, i got a newly refurbished series 1 instead.

Series 0 and Series 1 watches warranty has been extended to 3 years due to the known issue of expanding battery

I got it replaced for free. No charge.

The screen pops off the casing . and no matter how much you try to press it back down, it wont go back down.

I.e. Battery expanded beyond the factory limits and damaged the watch & screen.

It will be quite obvious when it happens

They took in my mother-in-law’s bent 5S without noticing the bend initially too (I complained about a defective screen). So my guess is that the people at the service counter either lack the proper equipment to diagnose defects such as bends and what not or are only instructed to collect the phones with a simple physical eye check for scratches and dents.

Ya, agree with Mackiddo, more than likely they’ll know about the third party repair on the screen, and it’s stated very clearly to be eligible for the RM129 battery replacement promotion, the phone must not have been repaired outside before.
