What happens to your iPhone water/dust resistance after sending in for battery replacement?
They do need to heat up the adhesive to remove the casing to access the battery.
And after they replace your battery and reapply the adhesive, there is no QC for water resistance. In fact, I’m not even sure the technicians here are well versed in applying the adhesive to comply with the water resistance standard.

As long as there are non original Apple parts in your phone, they won’t touch it.

Just came back from Machines, so my battery was bloated. Only option they give is pay RM199 for a new iPhone 6S.
Not bad I guess...

The guy assured me it is new, but won’t be in the retail packaging with the accessories.
Will be the slim white box they usually use for replacements without accessories.

I’ll know in 1 weeks time lol. Will make sure it is squeaky clean without any mark signs.

My phone is a bit bent, but I don't think that was from the battery lol

Easiest way would to check if it is new would be the model number and the warranty.

Well assuming it is a new phone la lol. But from what i've read, Apple's refurbished sets are usually better than newer units since they go through more stringent tests and most of the internals are new.

lol sadly my old model is only a rose gold 16gb.
But weirdly the invoice he typed in the model as grey 64gb
Hopefully they replace the phone according to his error

Wow that’s fast. Curve Machine fked up my order. I think the staff typed in the wrong serial number that’s why the wrong model was written in the invoice as 64gb grey instead of 16gb rose gold.
2 weeks later and still no movement to my order. Had to call a Apple then contact Machines before something happens.
Btw Machines service center has really shit contact service. Their phone line is automated to reject your calls and the only way you can contact them for info is through their FB messenger page.

But the staff blunder is really annoying. Based on the previous forumer who did the same replacement, he got his in just 2-3 days! Mine is at 2 weeks and they only just started initiating the service! If I didn’t make noise they would have just left my order rotting in the corner...

I figured it was just a typo error and I don't remember my serial number since the phone isn't with me either. I find it hard to believe the staff would write an entirely different serial number when he has my phone and me just in front of him!
