i dont understand y ppl bother getting the 45" model lol... for just extra 300 u can get 50" (or if you really want to save get the non-Android TV version and then buy ur own TV box)... price per inch also relatively same... so value wise the 50" is much a better buy IMO... and pls dont tell me that extra 5" is not worth it... makes a significant difference... as for me 60" is the way to go... for futureproofing

50" - RM2279 - https://shopee.com.my/SHARP-LC50UA6800X-50%...6374.1159435350
45" - RM1999 - https://www.lazada.com.my/products/sharp-45...s564700284.html only RM280 difference... not worth getting the 45"... better deal with the 50" This post has been edited by good_juju: Jul 28 2018, 03:02 PM |

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Jul 28 2018, 02:53 PM) however im still unsure if its worth getting the android tv version or not... yes slightly better specs with bluetooth and 4 HDMI instead of 2 and better speakers... but i already have a soundbar and Mi TV box... found a good price on Lazada https://www.lazada.com.my/products/sharp-lc...s581654234.html less than 2.8k... looks tempting... but not sure how much i am losing from not getting the Android TV version |

one thing that really annoys me with Sharp is... y didnt they release a 55" model? that would be the perfect size IMO... the sweet spot and price and size would have been much greater deal... and if they made the price slightly lower around 200-300 less than the 60" i would still think its a great buy... but sadly not

QUOTE(Harddisk @ Jul 28 2018, 03:13 PM) I guess you're hooking your soundbar directly to Mi Box instead of TV, right? Otherwise could utilise the HDMI ports on soundbar. no Mi Box direct HDMI to TV... My soundbar supports Bluetooth and HDMI... im just worried about futureproofing it... for now 2 HDMI is fine i can live with... or heck... i just get the Android TV version... just waiting for more price drop... |

QUOTE(praveenmarkandu @ Jul 28 2018, 07:28 PM) Was at ESH today and saw the LC50UA6800X. The picture looked not so good compared to the Samsungs. I have a feeling the content they used was subpar just to make the samsungs look better. Is the picture quality OK? Looks good to me... Ok when u said not as good as Sony or LG or Samsung's... Ur not comparing them to the OLED or QLED right? Cos that's different tech... Of course that will be much better... If u compareing LED TVs... IMO the Samsung and Sony's and LGs are not better than the Sharp because they r all low end models... The picture quality and brightness r all on par with the Sharp... Price will be much higher because of their brand... So I don't think is that worth it... Unless u get their mid range or premium models but of course just will cost much more... For example u can get the Sharp 60" easy smart for around the same price to the Samsung 55"... But picture quality is around the same too... So it's ur callAlso the price was like RM3388 but with a 5 year warranty |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Aug 2 2018, 09:48 PM) something i discovered about the 6800x... i found a 58 inch Basic TV LC58UA330X but its 2016 model (discontinued) for only RM2511. do u have this model? if so how is the quality compared to the latest 2018 one?if u have a media player/android box, try playing 1080p videos with 1080p setting instead of highest 2160p setting (of the player). for this tv, i find the 1080p picture quality better if player set to 1080p rather than 2160p (50, 60 hz). only when u play 2160p videos should u set to 2160p. this is not the case with 50" ue630x where a 2160p setting works good for 720p, 1080p, 2160p. maybe it's a "size" effect... or ua6800x is more discriminatory when it comes to upscaling...?? one thing i can say if u r used to smaller tv's... 40, 50"... becos 60" is quite a jump. u better be sure u play only 1080i/1080p/2160p/HDR10 stuff. SD, even 720p will appear blur! your eyes are better off with 50-55" max! https://www.sharp.com.my/pageRender?msgCont...Code=LC58UA330X https://www.lazada.com.my/products/sharp-58...s108477283.html This post has been edited by good_juju: Aug 2 2018, 10:29 PM |

oh btw guys since this TV (LC50UA6800X) is Edge lit... does it have any light bleed or halo effect or washed out blacks? cos the low end Samsung NU7100 got this problem. so when u watch say movies with letter boxing... the black bars at the bottom and top will look white-ish from the side since not if u dont watch it from the center since got no Local Dimming... is it very noticeable?

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Aug 3 2018, 12:48 AM) black bars... u can watch it from any angle, u won't see white. ok thx for the feedback... im 99.9% gonna get this TV then loleveryone's tv here is quite new, should not have bleeding or halo. if there is bleeding, wud have exchanged for another one already. give it 2-3 years, anything can happen. one of my previous tv's, slight bleeding happened at year 8. |
