Hi everyone, my gf and I will be travelling to Hokkaido next week, just in time for the snow festivals. Very slow paced travel to soak in the vibes and the freeziness of a snowy Japanese city
Looking for any recommendations of things to do and food places to our itinerary:
Day 1:
Arrival in Sapporo at 9am.
Buy snowshoes(!!) and check in to hostel. Then hang around Sapporo city (Susukino). Night time snow festival
Day 2:
Curb market, beer museum, Moerenuma Park, Sapporo clock tower/station. Basically some sight seeings around the city. And will most probably be at the snow festival again as we stay nearby Odori park.
Day 3:
10am train to Otaru and spending a night here for Otaru light festival. Read that some people came here just for a day trip as it's really small. Stayed here coz we didn't want to rush.
Day 4:
10am train to Chitose to collect our rental car. 2 hours drive from Chitose to Lake Nukabira. Snow trek to Taushubetsu Bridge if possible (or the next day morning).
Day 5:
Leaving at noon or later (if trekking to Taushubetsu Bridge) to Lake Shikaribetsu. Igloos and onsen

Day 6:
Chill and onsen again lol. After 10am checkout ~2 hours drive to Furano.
Afternoon to Biei blue pond and Shirahige waterfall
Evening to Ningle Terrace.
Day 7:
Snow trekking at Daisetsuzan National Park. Onsen and chill.
Day 8:
Furano ~2.5 hours drive back to Sapporo. Return car at 4pm.
Final shopping?
Day 9:
Early morning train to New Chitose Airport to catch 9am flight.
