QUOTE(tohff7 @ Mar 12 2018, 01:32 PM) End of this month is peak season due to the start of Sakura season. So, there is no 'best' price especially since it's so last min. try check Vietnam Air (transit in Vietnam) and also ANA. AA is actually not that cheap after you factor in baggage and meal, so I suggest you go for full carrier instead. Hi, ya understand is already peak season, I saw the air ticket also you can also try flights for mid-April since it slightly less peak (but u'll miss full-bloom sakura) Luckily managed to spam F5 and get 2 tickets last Saturday. Probably you already know, but in case you don't...this is Lawson online ticketing for Ghibli Museum in Japanese language and should correspond with the ticketing machine at Lawson stores. maybe check whether your wanted day/slot is still available or not. http://l-tike.com/order/?gLcode=30004&gPfK...seVenueCd=30064 Last minute planning due to my spouse company just approve a company trip but as claimable trip. I don't do last minute planning on my previous trips. Will check on Vietnam Air, but ANA price seems exp already. Coz we have 2 adults and 2 children(3yo and 5yo). |

morning all, any suggestion on place to stay?
1) which near to disneyland/disneysea? coz we plan to buy the 2 day pass, so i'm thinking if stay nearer will save the traveling time. then after only move back to shinjuku/shibuya. coz bringing 2 kids along, 3yo and 5yo. 2)lake kawaguchiko, looking for the place which can have the view of the lake and the mt fuji. i've try to look for few places, but is either near the train station which very convenient but dont have good view of the mt.fuji, and some i'm not sure whether is really can view to mt.fuji or not if based on the photo given of the airbnb/hotel. coz i just read based on the guests review. so hope if anyone been there can recommend some good ones. i'm planning to board train to lake kawaguchiko. i found this guide is useful, would it be easier since we have 2 kids ? http://www.chasingplaces.com/how-to-get-fr...apan-rail-pass/ |

QUOTE(tohff7 @ Mar 19 2018, 03:41 PM) Thanks Ya, just read up most of them provide free shuttle to train or to the stores if you need too. That would really help. If only 2 person, I don't mind the troublesome, but with kids...really cannot QUOTE(mugenz @ Mar 20 2018, 10:55 AM) If you still looking for stay at Fuji five lake. Can consider Yamadaya Hotel at Lake shijo. Its far from the station but consider cheap. RM400 with onsen facing the fuji. Easily RM1200 within kawaguchiko lake with onsen. Some doesnt even have view. Thanks!Bookings I booked for April season for RM400 per night, get to use the onsen for 30mins for free. However because i added breakfast and traditional dinner total up to RM800. Took Japanese traditional room and the rooms also facing fuji! no need purposely wake up and go out to camp. Super friendly owner, She even help me buy Studio Ghibli tickets Will try search on the dates whether is still available, seems selling fast |

QUOTE(yoonyin @ Apr 5 2018, 05:16 PM) Another option is to get our local DIGI prepaid card, buy a Roaming Pass for Rm25, you can get 2GB data + 30mins local call for 3 days. Total you only need Rm75 for 9 days total 6GB data. if 2nd day finish up 2GB, then speed will be slow down? ok, just saw this ...so it is not slowing down but will charged at standard roaming rates, unless purchase the pass again...QUOTE 11. What will happen if I have used up my Roaming Pass Voice minutes and Internet roaming quota? but from your experienced, is 2GB enough use for 3 days?If your Roam Pass Voice minutes and Internet quota are exhausted within the validity period, any subsequent roaming usages will be charged at standard roaming rates. Alternatively, you may purchase any additional Roaming Pass to continue enjoying Roaming voice calls and Internet roaming. This post has been edited by luvjim: Apr 6 2018, 10:51 AM |

QUOTE(deodorant @ Apr 6 2018, 12:13 PM) What does it matter what other people's experiences are? What matters is your own data usage pattern mah. If you gonna stream 4k video for a few hours a day on the train in the daytime then go to hotel backup your entire day's raw videos and photos to the cloud at night then of course it won't be enough. If you just whatsapp and Google maps then more than enough. ya, was wanted to referring to google maps. thanks Having said that, my last Japan trip I used 2.2gb in 8days (phone only). |

QUOTE(r2t2 @ Jul 10 2018, 04:43 PM) Only worth it if really interested in trying out various Tsukiji market sushi shops, or planning to go for the early morning tuna auction coz no need to worry about public transportation; as you already know, depending on luck, need to go as early as 3am to wait in the Fish Information Center office until 5.45am. I see, then I think I'm going to find other area. Actually not so into the auction. But visit the market is one of the itinerary. Else, nothing much there at night ... but still within walking distance from Ginza. https://www.japan-guide.com/news/0042.html "Tsukiji's inner market is scheduled to close on October 6, 2018, followed by the move of businesses from October 7 to 10, and the opening of Toyosu Market on October 11. Afterwards, Tsukiji's inner market will be torn down, and a new market is proposed to be built in its place sometime after the 2020 Olympics. Tsukiji's popular outer market with its many restaurants and numerous retail shops will remain in business beyond October 2018." During the Q&A while waiting for 5.45am tuna auction, someone asked about the move and how it'll affect them (one intermediate wholesaler volunteered to speak in English for around 30mins, while a main guy entertained the waiting 120 people); iirc, he said that the moving dates are still uncertain coz Toyosu Market facing some problems due to something about soil (not certain, don't quote me on that (but from the website news photos, the facilities seems ready) Yeah, I have read about the details and rules if to visit the Tsukiji market and the relocation, just want to double confirm. Many thanks. I'll be staying in Tokyo for 7nights, then proceed another 2 night in Lake Kawaguchiko. Any place recommend for easier traveling? Like less transit? Coz will be traveling with 2 children. Classically, will be visit the common tourist attraction in Asakusa, Akihabara, Ginza, Shinjuku and Disneyland(2 days). |

QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Jul 11 2018, 11:06 AM) Drop your pin on Google Map on places you want to visit and then check the transit. You'll find out whether the itinerary is ideal or too hectic. Suggest you do up your itinerary first and then check with forumers. Will do, how can I forget the pin. Hahahahaha your picture looked so bright, easily 5-6am or later? I've used the Seishun 18 ticket but it wasn't for Osaka to Tokyo. I went from Nagoya to Takayama (Gifu prefecture). Not sure about reserved seats but we didn't book those. We just got on the Limited Express train and changed train twice. It's like you're getting on a regular train. And seishun 18 is really value for money thus the trade off is your time. It's a long ride to your destination (compared to taking a bullet train) at a cheaper cost, stopping in most stations. It benefits people who are not in a rush to get to their destination. Not sure about the train to Osaka/ Tokyo, but mine was normal cushion. If you're worried then just go for reserved seats - pretty much solves your concern, no? I only focusing on the street view to see the distance between guesthouse and the station. |

QUOTE(lucaswjk @ Aug 30 2018, 05:19 PM) it's alright, now i know a little bit of him QUOTE(sweet_pez @ Aug 31 2018, 11:11 AM) Finally... I'm glad to hear that people do read/ check info on Page 1. I see. Cool. Seems like a good idea. Gonna visit the park that you suggested. Anyway yes, the Hello1010 SIM is really not bad. I buy from them every time each time I go Japan. The connection is good, there had been no issue so far. Whether it's SIM or Router, it depends on how many people are going. If you have 3-4 people, renting a pocket wifi will be cheaper. However you won't be able to separate from the group with pocket wifi. You don't have to worry much about Japan. It's safe to go around at night, just avoid middle of the dead night. If you go around 8-9pm it's fine imo. On 13/9 you're going Ghibli right? You can go earlier eg arrive at noon and stroll around Inokashira Park (which is right next to Ghibli). Picnic at the park or just enjoy the scenery. I like your itinerary - it's not rushed and you'll have ample time to relax. Kawaguchiko itinerary you can also take a look at experience on Page 1 Post 1. Probably can serve as a reference to what you can see/ do there. Nice P/S: The Japan thread is one of the popular thread in T&L. Will change to new version (aka. V12) when we hit 200 pages Alright, thanks! Not much time left to plan for the Kawaguchiko. |

Guys, anyone reserve using highwaybus.com?
Want to confirm if I selected the correct route destination to Kawaguchiko station? The outbound is, Shinjuku - Fujigoko・Mt. Fuji 5th Station Line. I plan only buying one way ticket. Return ticket, I buy from the station later. Will there be out of ticket problem?? |
