This is the same I have
So looks like no issue given like yours
And since time is more than enough
Anything to plan or eat after get into there?
Though if can have light dinner there first before next flight

So now biggest concern is the KIX-HND-KUL, which has only 1h50m between and need move between terminal
*
Should not be an issue unless flight is delay.
Domestic flight are very effiecient in Japan. Furthermore you dont need to go through immigration. I used to take a lot of dometics flight in Japan, and I am out in the street after 15minutes from the plane. Of course I dont have any check in luggage. smile.gif But then their luggage is also super fast.

I not so worry of the entering Japan...
more for the leaving...as need to go from Haneda T2 to TI, and scheduled turn around time is 1h50m only
if smooth ok la...
*
More than enough time. Domestic flight in Japan is very efficient. Transfer buses run frequently.

Cool

right now schedule and accommodation in place...yet to plot in spots to visit or food to try, but my itinerary currently is
12/11 - ANA KUL 0800 -> NRT (Transfer 2hr30m) -> ITM 1940 (stays Osaka)
13/11 - Osaka
14/11 - Head to Kobe/Himeji (stays Kobe)
15/11 - Half day Kobe, back to Osaka (stays Osaka)
16/11 - Kyoto
17/11 - Kyoto
18/11 - Kyoto
19/11 - Half day Kyoto, back Osaka
20/11 - Osaka/Nara
21/11 - Osaka
22/11 - Osaka
23/11 - Osaka half day, check out, last minute shopping, KIX 2105 -> HND (transfer 1hr50m) -> KUL 24/11 0645

Hope this is good enough to cover, just that now need to plot spots n route for each days
*
Was just wondering why dont you just setup a base like Osaka or Kyoto and then move to those places instead of changinng accomodation. You waste time checking in and out and also carrying your luggage.

Tokyo. I left the word. Damnn haha
*
For me, normally I wear a tshirt, sweater that is not too thick and then a jacket. Problem is when you are indoor they will have heater that can reach about 23C. I cannot tahan hot, so I will just take out my jacket. If you are outside and sometimes its windy or at night it good to weat a scarf around your neck. Also I just wear jeans only and normal socks and sports shoes. I can tahan cold and since I have live there a few years, already use to it. So I am not sure how much you can tahan the cold.

If there's only gundam in odaiba and nothing else, i personally won't go next time considering the cost of transport sweat.gif
*
If you are interested in cars, the Toyota Muesuem is there. Sometimes they have some exhibition and you can try out some stuff. As for transport, ya, its really expensive as it was a man made island and they need to purposely build the train to reach there. Normally if I go, I will take the bus from Tokyo station..... but then it will take at least an hour.

Is it ok staying nearby Hanzomon station, Tokyo? Looking at Google streetview, seems like an office district.

Not much happening/sightseeing during the night, right?
*
The station is pretty close to few government office and embassy too, hence you get to seem ore green too. Its also walking distance to the imperial palace. Hence you can take a calm walk around the area at night.... if you are that type of person. smile.gif Bars or night club will be a few station away.

Hi everyone, just asking
Can i still go to Japan if my passport validity is less than a year but more than 6 months? I want to book the flight ticket to Tokyo for Mar-May 2019 but my passport is due to renew in the end of 2019.
*
Japan does not practice the 6 months rule. As long as its valid during your entire stay that it should be fine. I did that about 6 years ago when my passport has less than 4 months. I did not realized it until the day I travel when the Malaysia immigration inform me. He says he will let me go but not sure if Japan will allow me to go in. So I took the risk.
You can find the FAQ in AU Japan embassy: https://www.melbourne.au.emb-japan.go.jp/co...r/visa/faq.html

As someone mention you might not be able to leave the country.... but since it is more than 6 months then it should be fine. You can call the airline/immigration to confirm.

And if you want a peace of mind, go change it.

Hi I wan to ask if Tokyo Motor Show can i go there only buy ticket or i must buy online? Thank you
*
Yes you can. Just that you need to spend more time lining up and I think a bit more expensive. Also while you walk to the venue there a number of scalpers trying to sell it to you. Just becareful.

Which is more recommended to travel to Osaka from KLIA?

Direct flight MAS is about 2000 round trip
ANA to Itami via Narita is about 2500 round trip

Never board ANA before so thinking to give a try
*
Personally I would take a direct flight and avoid the hassle of a transit. Furtheremore I can save the money for shopping later. Its a personal preference really.

In Tokyo there’s 2 observation building I would like to go, but need u guys give opinion which one should I choose?

- Tokyo Metropolitan Goverment Building
- Roppongi Tokyo City View Observation deck
*
When I was working in Tokyo, I use to go to Roppongi Tokyo City View once a month for lunch or bring a customer for sight seeing. It is very nice especially the sky deck and you can see Mt Fuji on a very clear day. The lunch is actually nothing much to shout about thought.

Lol... I’m asking for advice on whether I should arrive in New Chitose and depart Tokyo and travel in between via Shinkansen/train, not whether it’s hassle free or not sweat.gif doh.gif
*
Quite obvious isnt it, if your question is not about hassle free or not.
You have already make plans on your travel, so whats the point of going back to Chitose to fly back. So what do you really want to know?

Sorry let me explain
I just want to know what’s the best plan if I were to spend 15 days (9 days Hokkaido and 6 days Tokyo including 2 days Disneyland)?
I’m doing multicity it’s just because My son wants to experience the Shinkansen but that comes at the expense of 1 day spent on just train rides, I’m sure he’ll like it but 8 hours seems like an overkill?
But if I don’t do it, I won’t be able to fit in a Shinkansen ride anywhere in my itinerary
The shortest Shinkansen ride I think is Hakodate to Aomori, with that I might as well take all the way to Tokyo bangwall.gif
Any suggestions?
*
Assuming that you have fix your trip to both Hokkaido and Tokyo, I guess your plan is pretty much good. Cause you still need to get to Tokyo and the other way is to fly from Sapporo. As others have suggessted, take a short trip around Tokyo area. You can even take a trip to Karuizawa using the Tokyo WIde pass which is about 2 hours journey and spend a day there.

So I have booked the below:

Occupancy - 1 Adult
Room Type - Twin Bed

Yes, so it is a little strange in the sense that you book for 1 Adult, but get a room with 2 beds. If you price the same twin-room for 2 Adults then the price goes up, hence I booked it as 1 Adult.

These bookings have no meals or breakfast
*
Japan is mostly about per person rather than per room. As someone mention, if they found out you have another person with you they reserve the right to charge you extra. Will they find out? If they have a bit lobby most probably not. Last time I use to saty at ANA for business and company book per person. Arrive there with wife I told them I have one more person and they say no issue. Depends on luck and also who you negotiate with.

btw guys.. which airport is preferable to choose? narita or haneda ?
*
Depends where you want to go. Haneda is closer to Tokyo city. Normally it cost you more to land in Haneda.

thanks guys... just another question if you guys could give an opinion.. is there any difference now between cathay pacific and cathay dragon ? these 2 airlines do fly to japan.. but would like to know its main differences, if any.
*
Same company and cathay dragon is mostly regional, ie from HK to KL.

I would like to ask if anyone knows any good website for apartment rentals? I'm gonna be living there for a year or so for work purposes in the middle of next year so I might as well plan now. Thanks!
*
If you are renting for a year, then you have to go through the proper channel. Unless you have a big budget, then you can look for those short term service aparment that can cost from 200,000yen/month. If you can read japanese you can go to home.co.jp. Normally pages that have english cater to expat and what they have is normally on the high side. Alternatively look for some share house, where you get your own room but share toilets/kitchen like this: https://www.sakura-house.com/

So depends very much on your budget.

Would love to get recommendations on the railpass. Since i'll be in tokyo most of the time, i cant seems to find the railpass dedicated to tokyo only. Those that i found are intercities or doesnt cover tokyo. Been looking at klook already btw
*
If you are just travelling within tokyo just use pasmo, which is simiar to touch and go. THere are day passes like Metro, but its limited only to Metro and not JR. Unless you really plan your trip in detail, no point in getting any pass.

3. Bought return ticket to fly with Cathay.

KUL > HK via Cathay Dragon / transit in HK for 2 hours / HK > TKY via Cathay Pacific
Same thing for departure from Tokyo.

However upon arrival to the airport and trying to drop baggage at Cathay's counter, we were informed that the flight was overbooked. Cathay offered to transfer us to MAS for direct flight to Tokyo, arriving 3 hours earlier compared to us taking Cathay. Accepted and flew to TKY with MAS.

On return, it was Cathay Pac >> transit >> Cathay Dragon. The trip with CP was good, everything was fine. However Cathay Dragon was a little disappointing. While i understand it's 'budget' airline, there was very poor ventilation. A lot of passengers were fanning themselves in the aircraft and it was really suffocating. One of the cabin crew constantly climbed up to help push the luggage inside for the overhead compartment and her super short skirt is really sweat.gif an uncomfortable sight for families.
Cathay Dragon have never been a "budget" airline. Before Cathay bought them, they are actually a better airline with better food which I really like. Since its been bought over, they serve as a regional arm of CX. I havent taken them for since it was bought over, so its really sad to hear about their service.

Thanks for the tip RC! If i fly with Cathay again in future, will give this a shot thumbsup.gif

If not mistaken this is only for Cathay Dragon, hence the "KA" at the end. Dont think CX have this feature.

Karuizawa or Nikko or Kawagoe is worth more for a day trip from Tokyo?  hmm.gif

Kawagoe is nearer but seems like the main attraction is only the Kurazukuri Street.

Nikko is quite a distance away but more attractions to see.

Karuizawa is quite a distance away as well but not so much of tourists compared to Nikko.
*
If you want a day trip, do look at Enoshima and Kamakura. Karuizawa is more of a retirement home for the rich where there are lots of parks and nature for you to explore. Of course there is an outlet there if you wish to shop.
