Is September a good time to travel to Kansai?

Not summer hot weather and not within the peak time. Some websites say that it's the raining season. Too early for autumn leaves, so wondering about the scenery too.

Ah you're talking about Tsukemen. The one in your photo is tsukemen, the dry noodle where you dip into the sauce. Yes I've tried Menya and I loved it. Wanted to go again this round but couldn't due to lack of time. The Menya Musashi in Shinjuku is the main branch (which is why you'll see the word "honten"), probably that's why it's always full! In terms of Afuri, there were recommendations for it so I thought why not, let's give something new a try  if you don't try it, you won't know whether you like it or otherwise.

In Ichiran, they have some new items compared to 1.5 years ago when I last went. There's a braised meat and matcha beer.

Few questions regarding bank and money in Japan.

1) heard that there is no fee when we withdraw cash from ATM in 7 11? Is it true? I am using Maybank VISA debit card by the way.

2) can we open a Japanese bank account in Japan if we have a temporarily Japanese phone number?

3) this is not about Japan actually. I will be in Japan for 2 months plus under Malaysia travel visa.
Let's say I want to do fund transfer with my maybank online banking while I am in Japan, if I don't activate roaming (say I use Digi postpaid sim in Japan) then I wouldn't receive the 6 digit PAC code and thus I can't make online transaction. If I just activate roaming for that SMS, will I being charged crazy fees from tele provider Digi?

Hi Japan sifus,  I will be at Kanazawa this December and planning to rent a car to drive from Kanazawa to Shirakawa-go, Takayama and Ainokura Village for a day trip.  There are 5 of us and we feel it is much cheaper to self drive and also we can see more places at our convenience.
My questions are; 1. Will it be easy to drive from Kanazawa to those mentioned places around mid December? 2. Anyone done this route before and care to share some points to look out for?

2) Japanese address as in housing address? I will go to there for intern for 2.5 months. I was told Malaysian will only use normal travel visa since we can go to there for 90 days, but I am not sure if this is the one I will be using.

3) since my Digi postpaid sim most probably has no signal when I am in Oversea, how can I receive SMS?

Since I will be in Japan for almost 3 months. Anyone know any sim card with internet data that is affordable? Prefer sim over wifi device. I have found one that costs around RM18 per day and think it is expensive

Convenient store got alot to choose from ma.

Supermarket too, both of them is not very expensive. I find myself stupid bringing food there. I manage to find whole unagi for just rm40 @@

But 1 thing i notice, in japan every market can differ in price, like some place rm 80 for unagi, some rm60 and so on.

So try to visit few market n compare the price.

If airbnb try look for with kitchen equipment, can buy from market then cook.

If stay hotel juz buy ready made food from convenient store.

Dont need to stuggle yourself visit japan. Just ask staff which 1 halal.

just back from kyoto-kanazawa-shirakawago-takayama-kyoto driving trip.

if u guys drive to kanazawa, on the way there got a rest area at hill top which got a nice view of the small seaside small town below. i cant remember the rest area name d. maybe some japan expert here will know. its really worth a short rest from driving d.
