Anyone affected by the new ruling on Airbnb in Japan?

Mine was affected, too. But it would be end of the year. So, full refund, no question ask. The funny thing is that there are still hosts advertising in Airbnb, and they are without licenses.

Problem Airbnb in Japan right now is that there is no way for guests to verify if the hosts have the required license. Some of those advertised in Airbnb now are still without licenses. Some claimed they are in progress of applying, some said no but it's okay to stay at their place. I've dropped a mail to Airbnb and they said we can check with Airbnb before booking, and that is all we can do.

Question is, what if we booked it, assuming the host has the license, arrived, checked in, only to find out that it's illegal. And the enforcement kick you out. It would be a total nightmare.

I've cancelled my booking the same day it was enforced weeks ago, and also found out that my host, supposedly, was removed from Airbnb. Prior to that, I've contacted my host, and he said he has no intention to apply for the license. And requested that I cancel the booking. Full refund, but I've yet to check my credit card.

Probably it's a move to ensure tourists pay more for hotels, in preparation of the Olympics later?

Eh. Sorry, I forgot. But what’s the operation hours of JR trains in Osaka, yeah? Planning to get on the earliest train possible to Bamboo Forest. Search in JR website but it only show me ETA of trains. If I remember correctly, it’s around 5, yeah?
