What is half cut n rear cut? sorry,i'm just too new on owning a car. This will be my 1st car. U mean upgrade it to 2.0 V6 will be better? can i just buy a 1.6(A) then upgrade it to 2.0 V6? how much it will cost roughly? BTW,market price for a 97 1.8(A) around rm20k? |

QUOTE(usus @ Apr 27 2007, 04:38 PM) the lantis 1.8 is good enough, sufficient b8 power. u mean the price will increase? but mind you the older mazda engines consumes bit more petrol, but gives out good power. you can source out for half cuts & rear cuts, those are the vehicles that has encounter unsaveable accidents that causes them to be chopped of half of it's body. parts are quite rare, but can find. also not expensive, parts wise. however the popularity are increasing, so watchout for the prices. QUOTE(scorgio @ Apr 27 2007, 05:41 PM) what is RE? |

QUOTE(colinwong89 @ Apr 29 2007, 04:16 AM) My mistake, I forgot to mention earlier. SS15 is in Subang Jaya cool.. but don think i will upgrade it to 2.0 v6.. petrol consumption sure kaoo.. n maintainence much higher... My cousin's boyfriend has a Mazda Lantis 1.6, recently bought a 2.0 V6 halfcut. Seems quite sturdy although rust bubbles are starting to appear, but overall the car doesn't give him much problems. |

QUOTE(demio121 @ Apr 30 2007, 01:04 AM) i have been driving a Lantis for 3 years now and loving every moment. Of course there are the usual wear and tear issue but its not something no one can repair. Maintenance is expensive... i think that is over rated. Its not like maintaining a Proton but its not gonna cost you a bomb either. ty bro for all these useful info.. pro n cons too There are plenty of chop shop with Lantis part around town (i mean PJ, Subang and KL). I just found a air-con compressor for RM150. I think a Proton air-con compressor cost around that too... Lantis and Ford Lynx (as with most Ford and Mazda in this country) are mechanical twins, so for most Ford's part will fit nicely. If you are bored with your 1.6 or 1.8, there is the K-series engine available for upgrade. Most common is the KFZE which is 2.0 V6. This is a really sweet engine and the upgrade cost is cheaper than most Honda. Not everything is sweet with this car though... the frameless window can sometime be a little nuisance... after years of abuse, there are alway the issue of gaps when you close the door. There are simple solution to this. hop over to the local Lantis forum to meet and learn more about the Lantis. Bottom line is do some research and then decide. Enjoy. bro the forum u given to me is kinda "DEAD".. i saw my thread LAST POST 2006... n i can't find Register there.. FYI: last time my mum's working comp selling MAZDA lantis too.. that was 10yrs ago.. but my mum doesn't want me to buy this car,as it's quite rare... scare part will discontinue.. Added on April 30, 2007, 1:54 am QUOTE(MR.Syxo @ Apr 30 2007, 01:58 AM) haha..seem like imposibble..once u have it u always want to upgrade it..life is about a change..trust me..u'll change ur engine performance when u have been overtaking by local car.. donwan super charge lar.. my frenz almost dead coz of super charge last few month ler.. take over by local car?aiyakk i used to be raced last time.. 2yrs ago.. everynite drive diff types of car.. frenz's car.. til 2 accidents on my parent's car.. i sien ler.. worst acc is disc brake broke -.-!!so now even i drive my fren's EVO7,max speed i go is 160.. n my frenz don let me drive the car anymore.. coz a Wira can overtake me.. haha.. now i only speed at high way.. play ZIGZAG.. haahaa.. Life is priceless.. This post has been edited by calvin_swk: Apr 30 2007, 01:54 AM |

QUOTE(demio121 @ Apr 30 2007, 04:48 PM) the KFZE (2.0 V6) consumption is not at all like what you think. From owner, the KF consumption is better than 1.8 or equal 1.6. is ok bro bout the forum thingy..sori... i am dunno anyone that drive a Lynx. Not that i am really familiar with them. I have met a few but not really now them. Just back from oil change. RM100 for Castrol Magnatec, Ori oil filter, STP engine treatment and labor. That reasonable for me. Lesson learn is... whatever car you drive (excluding those luxury), it can be cheap if you have the mean and it can be expensive if you want it to be. Added on May 1, 2007, 1:47 ami just realise that the www.my323f.net site is having some trouble lately. There was some inconsistency in the db and some function when cockoo. the register new user function is, unfortunately one of those that is misbehaving. I'll notify the site administrator. Please come back to this thread later. I'll update when its fixed. so sorry for the trouble. rm100 for those service quite ok bah.. my uncle now installer for NGV car.. so once i get Lantis i will modify it into NGV car.. n the comsuption i tell u.. u will be btw, bro where's ur location.. once i get lantis i will meet ya.. but i think tat time is around next year.. |

QUOTE(demio121 @ May 1 2007, 01:09 PM) i live and rot around PJ. got a few size of tank.. put the smallest 1.. haha..Lantis boot space is pretty premium. I forego a superb speaker box so that i can have space in the boot. I got a el cheapo 10" tube now but its also taking like 20% space. you reali want to think over putting a NGV tank in the boot. i think should be no prob, coz im not putting any big speaker behind.. |
