I think you need to know the history of the chats.
Both me and Prince  have DBS multiplier which have SGD3k sitting there not working.
I found a way to close that account while retaining usage of DBS bank. Which means I can put the SGD3k to work.
I am sharing with prince on the steps involve in closing that account while retaining full control of a using a DBS bank account
Prince doesn't wants to know how to open another bank account.
He wants to know how to close his DBS Multiplier account and transfer his holdings (SGD500) into Posb account.

For Malaysians the minimum deposit for DBS is SGD3k? And according to the fees page, it says there is no fall-below fee if the average daily balance falls below S$3,000*, waived up till 29 years old.

So can I deposit SGD3k and then transfer back some?

Depending in whether DBS want to open for you or not.

You transfer back, and the amount fall below SGD3000, you kena charge. Simple as that. biggrin.gif

Sorry to say but this is one of the reasons why Singapore banks are reluctant to let foreigners open a bank account with them. It serves them no purpose. laugh.gif
