what do you think is the root cause of under employment?? businesses will always try to minimize their cost, which most of the time is human labor. every industry is or will experience this, as nowadays AI getting so good they can replace more and more of what humans do. think back to just ten years ago how many managers and workers doing stuff in an office that are not needed anymore?

Lyft is far from a typical Silicon Valley company. Unlike Uber, it does not lust for world domination and it operates only in America. Nor does it take itself especially seriously. For years it identified its drivers by pink, fuzzy moustaches fastened to the front of cars, and encouraged riders to fist-bump their drivers and sit in the front seat (though it has now relaxed this etiquette to attract more customers).

Yesterday I requested Uber to go to Putrajaya Proton Service Center from Presint 14F. A driver accepted my request and I texted him the exact house number and he told me he was on the way. It was more than five minutes but I could see the driver didn't move one bit from Presint 14H so I waited until nearly 10 minutes than I cancelled the trip. The driver also asked me for my destination before hand and this really triggered me because I've never asked my riders' destination after accepting their requests. Maybe that is one of the reasons why my rating is 4.83 when I used to drive for Uber and if you used to drive for Uber, you know how hard it is to maintain 4.8 and above, unlike Grab.

This morning I checked my Uber rider app and I was charged with RM5 cancellation fee. What the hell Uber? I cancelled the request because the driver took so long to reach me and he didn't move from his spot. Furthermore the cancellation address was P14H, which was his location while I was waiting at P14F. These two are separated by a 1.3km road which can be covered in 3 minutes if you drive like an uncle. This driver also has a rating of 4.49, which is borderline low. My rating as an Uber rider is 5, because as a former Uber driver, I know which passengers I appreciate most so I try my best to emulate them.

I've made a report so I'll just wait and see. Hopefully Uber will reverse the fee to the driver instead of to me.

it is a good program for Uber driver, at least there is a guarantee amount of RM1,850 earnings after completed 150 trips per week.

crapcar incentive need to follow schedule, Uber no need, plus the cancellation fee able to get rid a lot of problematic rider. Some willing to earn less and not pressure by crap "quality" rider.

It was my last assignment for the night. I saw it as S-size fare, but shout-out dumbfounded. Heading top hill with GS rate...only knew it when the customer was on-board. I’ve calculated that it we’ll end past midnight. Anyway it’ll be a smoother ride since bats are roosting. We gauge well on conversations, so that assisted to wake this hunting soul.
Once up there...felt like fairytale heaven-like environment. The fog & mist was awesome. It was drizzling & man..liquid nitrogen breezing through everywhere on everything. Somehow I was happy to be there. 🤪🤪🤪
By the way, the customer paid more than 100 as fare. The world would be a cooler & sporting place with more people like that.

That’s why I said u guys don’t understand rider behaviour. I’m not here to listen how pathetic driver u r but rather I think you may do better if u shift paradigm your mentality n stop stubborn. You hated nasty riders outside but as a mirror to you, they neither like u at all. To win this game, you ought to do it differently. Complaint n hatred will only cause your AR n dr drop. At the end, got suspended. After all, should u not blame yourself for not doing it differently?

Almost same experience; got this "Alpha" talk in phone almost the whole 5KM, calling Grab officers about his banned/suspended drivers, relaying side deals to his gang. Really poor maintained car (interior). Ended out missed the turn and dropped me at corner. Suspected kereta sapu driver.  Out of respect, I just gave him a smile and thank him for the ride.

PAX actually 10.29%, can't do anything as most are like immediate cancellation once I accepted the jobs. 2 of the immediate cancellation actually just because I park my car right in front the pick up point after my dim sum.

Exactly. Friday is like doomsday and chaos till you trained yourself not to received b2b after every pick up. No b2b relax a bit, then the famous 5KM pick up will come. Same here at the North. LOL! Every Friday my rating sure drop.

Driving in Penang island seems to me like driving in Singapore, PLUS the horrible traffic jam and MINUS the excellent public transport.
