How do I check if there is a cross border fee? Can you see it in the credit card statement or in CIMB clicks?

For those that have cross border fees, is it better to pay with Wise card? I think Steam charges cross border fees.

WISE card doesn't have cross border fee. You can use this card instead of CIMB's credit cards to avoid paying the 1% cross border fee.

Do you have problems paying DuitNow QR with CIMB Octo app? Sometimes when I scan, the QR code doesn't register. I've never had this difficulty with ShopeePay, GrabPay or TnG.

CIMB Octo app QR reader is not reliable. I need a backup.

I tried scanning a DuitNow QR with CIMB Octo but it failed. Then, I scanned the same QR with Shopee app and it succeeded.

From CIMB CASA?
Don't link to CIMB CC. Most of the merchants don't allow CC fund.

I haven't reached the point of paying because the Octo app cannot read the QR code. They have a software problem.

Are there cross border fees when you book flight tickets?

International airlines - I guess with cross border fee?
Malaysian airlines - No cross border fee?
Firefly - No cross border fee?
AirAsia - Maybe?

I'm going to Thailand. Can I use my CIMB ATM card there at CIMB Thailand's ATM machine? Or is it better to transfer money to Wise and withdraw from Wise debit card instead?

You're right. CIMB Thailand doesn't have any ATM machines. I visited 2 CIMB branches already but both don't have ATMs.

Now I'm deciding if I should change use money changer or withdraw from WISE. Which one is cheaper?

How you going to withdraw from Wise ? Atm ? 220Bht applies.

I said cash is king meaning it is cheaper.

I had some extra ringgit and changed them to baht at a money changer.
