hi all, i need urgent help here, here is the story:

Im driving a 2.0P, i tried to replace the reverse camera with a new one due to the original was spoiled. After I done the wiring and connected the new camera, it won't work, then i realized i cannot shift my gear anymore! And the dashboard screen doesn't show any gear indicator (refer the attached picture, above the temperature), and constantly showing "Service Required" message. The gear is now in "P", normally when u want to shift another gear, u have to press the brake pedal to "unlock" the gear (together with the unlock sound) so that u can do the shifting, now it cannot be "unlocked" (and without the sound) and so i cannot shift the gear anymore!!!

I believe it must be due to wiring i done on the new camera and when i connected it to the car, it mess up certain connection with the car...
now could anyone tell me how do i fix it? can anything be done to "reset" it? (in the power distribution box?)

Don't worry.. U most likely fried a fuse when connecting the reverse light only..

Fuse number 18. Should be 7.5A. It's behind ur glove box. Remove the glove box replace the fuse and u are good to go.

many thanks brother Kenny, u are a lifesaver!! notworthy.gif
however, i have replaced the burnt fuse with 10A (due to the nearby shop has no 7.5A and the uncle said has no issue even replaced with 10A).. so i will dropby another shop later and get the 7.5A as replacement instead.

besides, would like to consult you if you have idea how do we actually do the wiring part if want to replace the stock reverse cam,

with this aftermarket reverse cam.

initially i did was to match with the wiring color.. and of course it went wrong totally... mega_shok.gif

HAHAHAHAHHA
no wonder u fried the fuse....

dude.. lesson is .. never trust the color.. different manufacturer might use different color ... unless aftermarket stuff.. ur reverse cam looks like a halfcut unit to me.

4 lines.. pretty straight forward (if u know how it works)

1. Power to camera (+ 12v)
2. Ground to camera ( - terminal @ car body )
3. Video signal
4. Video signal shield.

i would take the camera and wire using a power supply at home.. to a TV to get the output first.. before i plug to the car.
u must have shorted the REVERSE light power to ground which fried the fuse.

-- added ---
by the way ... ur car have spare fuse ... 5A, 10A, 20A ... the fuse box in engine bay .. dont even need to buy a spare one pun .. lolz...
and if u look at the Behind glovebox fuse box... the bottom part the 7.5A fuse can use.. that fuse is not use (its for side mirror heater) which obviously our car dont have.

From ur halfcut unit .. i will bet .. RED as 12v .. black as ground (negative terminal) .. and yellow is the video signal .

all right, i have replaced it with the 7.5A fuse as u mentioned.

hmm.. guess i really have to study well if im going to make my next attempt to replace the reverse cam.. as if taking to the accessories shop, they will chop me probably RM80-100 or even more just to replace the cam... but the cam alone can easily get with less than RM20 from LZD or TB..

thanks again Kenny for sharing ur knowledge, appreciate that! thumbup.gif

Guys. Any recommendation and idea on cost to replace my brake discs? I think it's the fronts that need replacing. Went by proton parts center and its like 700+ a corner and my current mechanic is quoting about the same.

Kenny, please share your opinion on what could be wrong with my front suspension. Rattling at low speeds on rough roads and spoeedbump and steering can feel some vibration and feels like driving an old car. Happens only in mornings.  Mileage only 35k.

I checked absorbers, lower arm, end links all seem tight and wheels have no free play. Only the drive shafts have some movement when I shake it but I think that's normal.

I went to mechanic but when I reach there the sound is gone and mech has no idea what's wrong.

I searched online and most possible cause is lower arm.

Could that be the cause?

Maybe u can check the front absorber bearing.
mine had the same issue, when goes on rough road, it will appear and during steer/ turning.

replaced the absorber bearing issue settled.
