Gents, i am thinking of getting Mazda 3 but debating over getting the GL or High Spec.
The difference is RM 15k, is it worth it? seek opinions from those who have owned and familiar with this car.

Hi guys! What do you guys think of 2010/2011 Mazda 3 sedan? Is it okay or are there expected issues? Planning to get one used below rm35k with below 100k mileage

Sick of it already, change twice already, 2 months later will go in again to claim warranty for the suspension noise.

Scrolling thru this page really scares me, I am getting M3 HB next week. Hopefully mine wont have the "kruk kruk" thingy....

I changed mine to hankook v12evo2, differences are noticeable. All roads surfaces sounded like newly paved roads on the factory fitted tyres. My radio volume now turned down by 2 points on my favourite channel and can talk with passengers without raising my voice a lot now. Wind noise exceeds tyre noise by around 130km/h, when previously the toyo so damn noisy after 60km/h. Very surprised that it made such a difference.

Rolling resistance also a little lower, so can improve acceleration and fuel consumption a little bit. It really changed the driving refinement in city speeds quite drastically.

If you can wait a little longer to change (after september), i would suggest the soon to be released falken fk510 which has even better rolling refinement rating than the v12evo2 while selling around similar price range.

So my rant to mazda : Please rid yourself of fitting toyo tyres at factory. If you want to support japan products because you're japan company, fit it with falken fk510. It is cheaper yet better than the toyo in both price and performance metrics!!! 
it is about RM1800 if refer australian website, but likely around 2500~3000 when installed. Seriously considering this but not in a hurry at the moment. Thinking of maybe changing it on the 5th year of ownership.

The kruk kruk noise can also be contributed by :
1) the strut bearing
2) the strut mounting
3) the top of the coil spring hitting the strut mounting
4) brake caliper movement

For me, i've done warranty claim on parts 1 to 3, but didn't resolve till date. Point 4 was discovered by a neighbourhood small franchised dealer. The mechanic there dismantled the front caliper and added more lube on the caliper pins and the pin chambers. It reduced the noise occurrence drastically, but only for a short 1 to 2 months period    Seems like a similar incident to a number of previous generation's mazda3 due to caliper pin design. Not sure whether this is an issue to the facelifted GVC version.

Falken fk510 doesn't have size for 16 inch rims.

v12evo2 and ps4 have tyres for 16 inch rims, but for 205/55 instead of the OEM spec 205/60 profile.

But seeing the price difference, i would personally just get the ps4, but the hankook has slightly better rolling refinement with reduced grip performance (but not by too much).

For my size with 18 inch, the difference between the 2 is approaching 1000, so quite a hard swallow for me to get the ps4.

Same thing happened to me. The kruk kruk noise cannot be solved despite numerous visits to Service Center.
1. Replace the Lower arm [x4 times]
2. Replace stopper [x2 times]
3. Replace Strut Bearing & Mounting [x2 times]
4. Replace Brake Caliper [Greasing & EVEN IMPROVED PIN]

Other Items replaced:
1. Engine & Gearbox Mounting [vibration during idling]
2. Pulley Tensioner [leaking] x2
3. Wheel Nut rusty [QC issue]
4. Low paint quality - easily to get Stone chip [vs other cars]

I think is boils down to the design defect which unable to solve even on new CX-5 there are complains regarding this kruk kruk issue.

Battery dead yesterday. Not even 2 months! Tried using jumper also cannot start.. Called SC , they advise buy new battery and they teach how to reset iStop myself.

Battery bought from SC : Delkor Q85/115D23L for RM452 with 12months/25k km warranty.

My father planning to buy new car (because 0% gst), he got eyes on Civic 2018 1.8s and Mazda3 2.0 SkyActiv GL.

He asked for my opinion but i know shits about car but he leaned more on Mazda3 because of safety.

So how was Mazda3 compared to Civic especially maintenance, fuel consumption and resale value?

I visited one of the showrooms and apparently there are no cars to test drive at all for all models (not just Mazda 3) due to the sales from no GST? Can someone let me know if any showroom in the greater KL area has a M3 for test driving?

Choosing between this and the Civic 1.5TC.

Oh this one, it is more like fuel system cleaner, or intake/injector cleaner, not exactly effective in cleaning the intake side carbon deposits as skyactiv engine direct injected, the fuel don't directly touch the intake valves.

But not bad lar.....give you free....my side diam saja....some more advertise threebond cleaning (of course with extra charges)....

Can someone advise what's the FC for m3? Rm 40 petrol hw far cn u go for 100% City drive? My car is killing with only 150-180km for 40 bucks of petrol
