QUOTE(darx84 @ Dec 4 2017, 05:40 PM) Let’s assume it runs 18 hour per day (5.30am till 11.30pm) and it runs both direction once every 30min. That’s 18hr x 4 trip per hr x 15 person per trip x RM10 per person = RM10800 per day. 16.5mil/10.8k per day = 4.2 years just to collect fare equivalent to cost of construction. If factor in Operation and maintenance cost forever cannot t break even. Keeimpulannya, stupiak project. Only ONE monorail is gonna run the entire route. ONE not two or three but ONE.

https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2017...ssful-relaunch/QUOTE MELAKA: The Sungai Melaka tourist monorail, which resumed operations on Dec 4 after being suspended since 2013 due to technical problems, received encouraging response from the public.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron said nearly 10,000 passengers have used the service within two weeks of resuming operations.
He said the operator, Monorail Themepark and Studios Sdn Bhd (MTS), would acquire a second coach in January 2018 to increase its capacity.
"Currently the one coach in operation can carry up to 650 passengers a day and the second coach will be able to accommodate another 700 passengers daily," he said after launching the recreational monorail service at the Tun Ali Station in Jalan Tun Ali here.
Idris said based on the figures by MTS, the service is expected to generate an annual gross profit of RM1.2mil.
He said 5% of the gross profit would be handed over to the Melaka Historic City Council (MBMB) which had spent RM8.7mil to revive and upgrade the service.
"I also wish to express my gratitude to the Tourism and Culture Ministry for channelling another RM13.2mil for the project," he said.
The 3km-long line connects Hang Tuah station in Jalan Bunga Raya Pantai to Taman Rempah in Pengkalan Rama, with each trip taking about 30 minutes.
The monorail operates from 10am to 11pm from Mondays to Thursdays, with extended service till midnight on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
At present, tickets for the service are sold at a promotional price of RM10.
Normal prices for the tickets are RM15 each for adults, RM12 for senior citizens and children from 3 to 12 years old and RM10 for the disabled and students in school uniforms.
For foreigners, the ticket prices are RM20 for adults and RM15 for senior citizens, children and disabled individuals respectively. 30min 1 ride, 13hrs operation, 2 weeks, 15person/ride = 5460 mana datang 10k
