Hi. I just bought a Proton Persona 4 months ago and I had the car serviced 2 months later (mileage 1,000 km). As a result, I got the sticker stated that the next service date will be on 2 months after the first one (also stated next oil change mileage 5,000 km). The current mileage of the car is 3,000 km.

However, the car service schedule provided in the booklet stated that the second service date will either be on 6 months after the purchase or when the mileage is 10,000 km, whichever occurs first.

Does anyone have any idea which one should I follow? I wonder when exactly is the service date.

Thanks.

Follow oil type

Normal/mineral 5k
Semi 7k
Fully 10k

But depends on how u drive also. If u

1) always keep engine running without moving for long period
2) always in jem
3) drive like lunatic high rpm
4) frequent long distance

Minus 2k of the above oil change

Proton booklet always jump 2nd service to 10k km. My Proton last time also like that. Then the Service center stick a 5000km chop on my book.

If u love ur car and got money, go service at 5k. If budget limited wait until 10k la.

Follow the book. You went to dealer service centre ka? It's something something Sdn Bhd or Proton Edar Sdn Bhd?

Dealer usually ask u service 3 months/5,000 km so that can earn more, padahal Proton themselves say you use mineral, semi, fully ke, still 6 months/10,000 km

I find usually Proton's own branch, Proton Edar Sdn Bhd generally have better service. No hanky panky add on charge mangatrap la, X1R additive la, and normally they ask you 6 months/10,000km.

Follow the sticker. the book is standard where they apply for all local and international proton. Take note for international proton, they offer fully synthetic, and they offer greater warranty. as for our local, normally they will just give mineral or at most semi. Now, from 1k-10k, this is the period where your car is actually running in, my recommendation is to follow the sticker, as the engine is running in, there will be tiny metal shavings. changing the oils will remove these residue. also take note even when the oil is rated to 10k, normally oil filters are recommended to change at 5k. having thicken and clogged oil filter runs you the risk of wearing out the oil pump or reducing oil feed to the top of the case.
