Just saved myself RM 119. Used a RM5.90 USB-C to USB-A female converter and Connect original lightning cable to PD capable power bank. No need to buy USB-C to lightning cable.
Was afraid it might fry my iPhone X but took the plunge coz wanted to try fast charging.
Powerbank used is XiaoMi ZMI QB820 with PD and max 40W output. Wasn't sure how much power the X is drawing but it is charging at averagely 1% per minute.

1 Min 1% = 100 mins full charge. Less than 2 hours wor. I think should be gua.

Looking at the test result. Seems like the normal cable and the converter can only do around 12W. Maybe need to buy USB-C to lightning cable to get full fast charge capability.

I didn't manage to test from 0-100 yet as my current practice is to put my phone on it whenever i'm sitting down at my desk. Based on my un-scientific observation, generally the charging rate is similar with charging it with stock cabled charger.
What I like best is the convenience of using wireless charger. No more hassle to attach the cable to the phone. Hopefully this will prolong the life of the connector on the iphone itself.
Edit: I'm on iOS 11.1.2, so unable to try with 11.2 7.5W fast charging whether compatible or not.
The 1% / minute is about right. I bought 2 chargers . One is Apple Original 29w another is Aukey PA-Y10, both charger gave the same speed. I am not using usb-c converter though, also bought the original Apple USB-C to lightning cable What I like best is the convenience of using wireless charger. From your test, I may save money on additional cable. It’s super expensive... 119 per cable
