Guys do u think I should buy from Sg? Am currently here and seems after conversion is slightly cheaper. Somemore can claim get refund I think? Just worry the credit card conversion rate.
*
if u want to buy from overseas. might as well get a US or Japan set. it is 1k cheaper.

Honestly, with the retail price in SEA, it makes sense to just buy it on contract.

My gut feel is that apple realized they f**ked the pricing of the iphone X in Malaysia. nearly 6k for the 256

Whilst, getting it from any of the telcos, u save nearly 2k off retail.

Since you already probably using a phone plan, might as well. 2 years contract is nothing.

How about the warranty if there's something wrong with the phone? How much cheaper you talking about?
*
Need to go back to Singapore. Malaysia doesnt have an official apple store. just official distributors who dont recognize the warranty.

however, point to note, i cracked my 6s Plus screen and had it changed in an apple store in japan for only RM600 (Replacement fee for units under warranty)

So go figure ^^. 30 min job in Shinjuku.

i ordered frm US T mobile, rm4400, where got 1k cheaper?
*
Which model you choose ?

Malaysia iPhone X 64 Gb = 5200
Malaysia iPhone X 256 GB = 5900

If you buy 256, im damn sure its 1k cheaper.

I bought a Japan set iPhone X 256 GB for 4850 after conversion

I bought a Maxis Malaysia set for 4000 after taking a 2 yr contract and One Plan

actually there is an apple service centre in time square do accept international set.

this was told by one of the LYN seller that sold me US set ipad air 2
*
They do accept international set, but they charge an arm and a leg to fix it.

Even for items that is clearly under warranty. "Service Fee" + "Admin Fee"

If you actually get it done in a proper apple store, those fixes will be free.

I may be wrong, but I had issues fixing my US iPhone 4S ... a long time ago .

However I got problem with my whataspp that the whatsapp video calling or phone calling fail...any solution for me guys?
*
Restart the phone ?
Reinstall whatsapp ?

Whatsapp call seems okay to me.

still consider if worth to get apple 29w adapter or not
*
Dont think so.

i bought a wireless charger, hook it up to the iPad Charger, charges quite fast.

Im using the USB C to Lightning to charge my phone from my MBP 2017, also seems fast.

Dont really see any reason to purposely buy another charger for the phone, unless this is your first iphone and all you have is that pointless charger that they bundled the phone with.

Then you probably want to get something faster, not necessarily the apple solution xD

I have a MacBook Pro 2017 A’s well. I’m using the USB C to USB A adapter instead of buying the USB C to USB A lightning cable for fast charging.

Do you think this is advisable?
*
I have used it on occasion when i left my usb c cable at home ..

I haven't really measured the speed, but i think its slightly slower compared to direct.

Advisable or not, i wouldn't be too concerned .. it should work just fine.

I'm thinking of getting X in Japan soon. What do I need to know about the iPhones from there? Can be use gully here in Malaysia right? With LTE and all?
*
Biggest issue with Jap Phone is that their camera sound when taking photos cannot be disabled unless jailbroken.

Thats all.

if you commonly take sneaky photos, then you might have a problem.

the shutter sound doesn't bother me. Been using the 7 plus camera mostly to take product photos with the shutter sound on anyway.

So all the same? Other than the power adapter I guess.
*
If you have existing apple devices, dont see it as an issue.

Since all their power adaptors come with interchangeable heads.

Just buy the head or just use one of the existing ones you have.

How many of us here using iPad adapter to charge their iPhone X? I have an adapter from iPad Air 1, is it totally safe to use it on my x?

And how many % do you get per an hour charge with the iPad adapter? Pls share.

With the adapter/cable comes with the box (5W), an hour charge gets about 30-33%.
*
Im fairly certain about an hour charge will get it to about 80%

Wow 30% to 80% is a lot of diff...confirm won’t harm the battery in long run? Haha sweat.gif
*
The phone is rated for much higher charging.

I have been using an ipad charger to charge all my phones since the 6 plus.

After all the hand me down.. my mom has finally killed the battery on the 6 plus.. thats after 3 years.

1 year of heavy use by me, 1 year by my wife and finally 1 yr of average use by my mom.

I think thats pretty good lifetime already for the battery. HAHAH.

and frankly, when charging on my mac with the usb c to lightning, im definitely sure 1 hour hits 100% or rather over 100%

dont see how the heck u can survive with 1 hour - 30%
