Hello, Currently I'm owning Nikon D5300 body with 35mm 1.8g and 55-200mm VR lens. For now I'm just doing street photography. Planning to do portrait and event photography as side income/part time. So is there any good lense recommended for this purpose on this body?

portrait 50mm 1.8G. although the 35mm 1.8g can use la.
event 18-140mm 3.5-5.6 VR best all round lens for events IMHO.
if night / indoor event you will have to look at faster lenses.

I prefer Nikon 85mm but Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC also consider good overall task at reasonable price. If need cheaper try Tamron 17-55mm f/2.8 but not weather proof.

If you doing indoor official event shoot I think better invest in flash than faster lens. Even at f1.4 still ends up with very noisy shot.

Sigma 17-50 f2.8. It is Constant aperture @f2.8, sharp, Nice bokeh at 50mm f2.8 and much cheaper than Nikon native offering (Nikkor 17-55 f2.8). If you haven't got one, I totally agreed with Trialgone that you should invest in a flash.
