 Is December 1 a public holiday in Johor?

Your boss sees you as some kind of fool or what. It's clearly public holiday. Even if you your company operates as usual, you must be sure your will be paid double.

It's a public holiday BUT your company needs to only observe 11.

Read section 60D. http://pesaraonline.net/part12.htm

This is not a compulsory one, so they don't need to follow it and they don't need to pay you double as long as they have a conspicuously displayed notice telling you which public holidays are observed.

1. Your company need to give a list of 11 public holidays that they will observe every year.

2. If company ask you to work on these 11 public holidays listed then need to pay you double or give replacement day in lieu.

3. Since many public holiday, it is the company discretion to choose the 11 days

4. Some companies more simple, they just follow bank. If state bank close they also close so less dispute but means company rugi because more then 11 days.
