Fuck. Will be pretty unfair for them as they're not companies, so can't minus out their operating expenses.

What they get net from Uber will be their income. No column for private citizens to deduct their expenses for petrol and maintenance.

Can register as individual with business income. This happened to me when my income from property rentals exceeded my salary and LHDN did it automatically. So I can deduct maintenance fees etc. as business expenses.

They'll need to register with Uber as a sole proprietor and not as a private citizen. Not sure if that's allowed by Uber.

SOALAN LAZIM
BORANG B
S1:
Siapakah yang perlu mengisi Borang B?
J1:
Borang  B  perlu  diisi  oleh  individu
yang  bermastautin  di  Malaysia  dan
menjalankan
perniagaan di dalam tahun yang ditaksir.
S2:
Apakah perbezaan di antara Borang BE dan B?
J2:
Borang  BE
-
pendapatan  di  bawah  Sek  4(b)

4(f)  Akta  Cukai  Pendapatan
1967 dan diisi oleh
individu pemastautin yang mempunyai punca pendapatan
selain
daripada perniagaan.
Borang B
-
pendapatan di bawah Sek 4(a)

4(f) Akta Cukai Pendapatan 1967
dan  diisi  oleh  individu
yang  mempunyai  punca  pendapatan  perniagaan
(tunggal) atau perkongsian.

J3:
Tidak boleh. Pendapatan perniagaan perlu dilaporkan dalam Borang B.
S4:
Bolehkah  saya  melaporkan  pendapatan  penggajian  saya  jika  saya
menerima Borang B?
J4:
Borang B boleh digunakan untuk melaporkan pendapatan
penggajian. Tetapi
Borang  B  dengan
punca  penggajian  sahaja  mestilah  dihantar  sebelum  atau
pada 30hb April. Jika ada baki cukai kena
dibayar, bayaran cukai juga perlu di
bayar  sebelum  atau  pada  30hb  April. Walau  bagaimanapun  tuan
digalakkan
untuk menggunaka
n borang yang betul iaitu Borang BE.
S5:
Bilakah tarikh akhir mengembalikan Borang B?
J5:
Tarikh akhir pengembalian Borang B ialah pada 30 Jun setiap tahun.

basically change it to borang B and can lapur on 30jun instead of april

The guy's problem is that he probably didn't keep good records of fuel purchases etc. LHDN will also want you to account for fuel usage for private use and for UBER work purposes. Most people probably won't be able to do that.

Maybe can see the mileage driven for Uber, then claim on that. Include wear and tear into the amount. Something like RM 0.80/km. Include maintenance, tyres, petrol, spare parts etc. I think it's quite reasonable.

And I'm still missing 2 earnings statements from Crab... Some more their statements show fares collected as gross, but incentives earned as net... Can I tell the taxman that I didn't drive for that 2 weeks? Doesn't make sense also, right? Should have statement that says earned zero for those 2 weeks.
