Why online prices(Lazada,Lelong)are always cheaper than retail prices(Sole distributor)? The price difference is too much around RM100-200 less but still in the same quality and authenticity that has been offered.Of course we as buyers certainly choose goods at low price.

They keep their overhead very very low and operate at razor thin margins.

buying at retail store:
- 100% safe and peace of mind
- during unboxing if anything not right, demand for another unit right away
- extra 200-400 for that 100% peace of mind

buying online:
- 50/50, your item might be "lost" during the delivery process
- might not be a sealed unit upon arrival
- item may defect during delivery as most of the postal/delivery companies dont even bother whats in it, they will just throw your package into the correct delivery location/box/etc
- peace of mind literally non-existent
- cheaper by 200-400

so its all up to you, which kind of person you are. personally for me when i buy a phone. i would never buy online as this is malaysia.. things can get "lost" for no reason

This is an old thread resurrected by Qwerty. Anyway, similarly I share the same impression as I will always buy a phone from a shop instead of shipping it online for the reasons that you mentioned. Similarly I observed the price difference to be between RM200 to 400 as well. I bought my phone from DirectD when they are having year-end sales last year in December despite the discount it's still RM200 more than online prices. But yes, it's a peace of mind that one gets when compared to buying online.

damn didnt notice sweat.gif

thought its a new thread laugh.gif

yeap, for gadgets or any other tech items.. i prefer to buy it where i can feel it/see it before i pay

not i pay first then see it later

because i always believed that buying something expensive, its always an advantage where you are the boss.. rather than the seller being the boss and delay you for no reason

end up you are the one always headcahe here and there while waiting for the device to arrive

Still useful when there is someone whom seeking comparison between online vs retail price anyway.

As long the thread is not so old, I think it still elegible for somebody to post something related to the thread topic, isn't it ?
