Nissan Serena NISMO goes on sale in JapanVideo @ TMS2017
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
YOKOHAMA, Japan – The Nissan Serena NISMO goes on sale today in Japan, combining NISMO’s performance, driving pleasure and styling with the popular minivan’s family-friendly, utilitarian nature.
The new model offers even more car lovers the opportunity to experience the appeal of the NISMO brand. It’s the latest addition to the NISMO road car series, which began with the Nissan Juke NISMO in 2013. The series has since expanded with the addition of the Nissan March NISMO, Nissan Note NISMO, Nissan Fairlady Z NISMO and Nissan GT-R NISMO models.
Nissan has spared no effort in fully incorporating NISMO technology into the Serena, which went through a full model upgrade in August 2016. The result is the Serena NISMO, realizing powerful styling and exhilarating driving without compromising the convenience and comfort that allow the entire family to enjoy long drives.
The Serena NISMO offers strong stability and comfortable handling for worry-free driving, even at high speeds. This is achieved through the custom-made reinforced body and suspension tuning. In addition, the custom tuning computer and custom sports-tuned muffler result in the exhilarating acceleration for which NISMO is known.
The exterior design features the toughness and style characteristic of the NISMO brand. Specially designed elements in sections such as the front bumper and rear spoiler have significantly improved its aerodynamic performance. Both the interior and exterior feature accents in red, the color of NISMO. The model comes in seven available body colors, including four that are exclusive to the NISMO series.
The Serena features ProPILOT technology, enabling autonomous driving in single-lane traffic on highways. The technology is a key part of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, the company’s blueprint for changing how cars are powered, driven and integrated with society.
Nissan Serena e-POWER goes on sale in Japan
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «
YOKOHAMA, Japan – The Nissan Serena e-POWER will go on sale in Japan on March 1, combining the exceptional driving performance of the e-POWER electrified powertrain with the family-friendly features of the popular Serena minivan.
The Serena will be the second model with the e-POWER system, which has been a hit with consumers since it was first introduced in the Nissan Note in Japan in 2016. Nissan plans to launch more e-POWER models globally as part of its Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision for changing how cars are powered, driven and integrated into society.
The Nissan Serena e-POWER is both fun and comfortable to drive. The 100% electric motor drive system treats drivers to powerful acceleration, and the vehicle’s e-POWER Drive mode adds the convenience of being able to speed up or decelerate by using only the accelerator pedal1. With optimized engine management and noise reduction measures throughout the vehicle body, the Nissan Serena e-POWER transcends its class in terms of quietness.
Combined with the model’s aerodynamic body, the e-POWER system – which includes a small gasoline engine that charges the battery – ensures exceptional fuel economy. The Nissan Serena e-POWER is rated at 26.2 km/L2 (according to Japan’s JC08 test).
First introduced in 1991, the Serena has evolved to meet the needs of families through the years. The Nissan Serena e-POWER marks a major technological update, with the addition of e-POWER, e-POWER Drive mode and other features such as Manner Mode – which enables the vehicle to drive quietly at night by limiting the use of the gasoline engine that charges the battery. Drivers can take full advantage of Manner Mode by using the vehicle’s Charge Mode to charge the battery in advance.
The Nissan Serena e-POWER also comes with innovative safety features such as ProPILOT autonomous driving technology for single-lane driving on highways. With additional equipment including Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane-Departure Warning System, High Beam Adjust and Emergency Assist for Missed Pedal Application (optional), the Serena e-POWER adheres to the Japanese government’s highest safety standards.
On the design side, a blue accent symbolizing the advanced nature of e-POWER appears throughout the interior and exterior, including the grille, the electronic shift knob, the large console tray and the dashboard display. Dedicated 15-inch aluminum wheels and roof side spoilers enhance the vehicle’s aerodynamics.
The Nissan Serena e-POWER’s advanced technologies embody Nissan ingenuity and are part of the company’s commitment to delivering more electrification and autonomy under its Nissan Intelligent Mobility vision.

CKD should have some ready units for delivery on the launch date
if like HK all are CBU, have to wait 2 - 3 months for shipment delivery
meanwhile i saw this from <a href='https://<link removed>/2017/12/05/spyshots-2018-nissan-serena-spotted-on-a-trailer/' target='_blank'>https://<link removed>/2017/12/05/spyshots-201...d-on-a-trailer/</a>
auto hold hand brake, I drive HRV before n they have this feature. which I don't use.. I not get use to it. it will hold hand brake when u stop and auto release when u accelerate again.

oh, u mean auto park brake or brake hold..
same here, not used to it..when i test drove during HRV launch.. as usual, i prefer gear to N and pull handbrake/ step footbrake
but am thinking is our malaysia road ready for this technology? i takut masuk longkang
pro pilot is just assistance like subaru eye sight, for pro pilot it comes with 2 stages as I seen on ads. 1. it will only assist u for advance cruising, braking, stop n accelerate to speed that sets ( no steering movement involved), 2. all of no. 1 added with steering assist for single lane (at the moment)
still, is not something that fully dependable. just assistance which I really likes it! is like 2 driver but I'm fully in charge.. any crashing and I'm the one which to blame on.

it work like hill assist, i can just release acceleration without putting foot to brake next. still, I'm not use to it until i got this feature more practice. is an advantage to have it but if u have 2 cars and u forget the 1 u drive doesn't comes with this feature will be disaster.

previous Serena S-Hybrid is CBU. The current Serena S-Hybrid Facelift is CKD ..and coming C27 is CKD
dont apply your so-called "it always happen to Nissan car" here..adui
focus ur Android post better
Excuse... isn't the current Serena S-Hybrid and your so-called previous is the same C26 fourth gen Serena? Whether pre-facelift or facelift, it's still the same generation.
As what cutypuppy is trying to say, usually when the 1st batch comes in, it's in CBU form. And eventually, it will be made available in CKD form. But for the current C26 model, TCM decided to CKD the facelifted instead of offering the pre-facelifted here in Msia.

lol..what 1st batch or this batch that batch pre-facelift is pre facelift, facelift is facelift..though both are same model code c26, but both are different, so dont put your assumption
obviously cutypupply just simply commented without verified the source... anyway dont need to defend if this is ur dupe ID or, scroll back and read the thread again

It seems you are still not clear nor want to understand how cars are classified based on their generations and their product periodic updates. And plz, it's not an assumption but a fact.
And plz, this is another person not a dupe ID. You spent too much time in Kopi-thiam... Whatever he commented, I find it tallies with what I have read and check so far. The current topic I read from paulinetan says... I quote, "With the current Serena S-Hybrid on sale in Malaysia being a locally-assembled (CKD) model, could the new one follow suit?"... it could mean that it maybe a CKD when they introduce the 1st batch or it could be like the current C26 pre-facelifted model that is maybe a CBU.
Anyway, it's good you have shown interest in starting this thread but please don't jump to conclusion. We are all car enthusiast, no? We all have opinions...

anyway, its confirmed CKD.. so no point we argue on CutyPuppy comment
I wonder whether TCM will bring it both design variants or just one of the variants with 2 different trim levels.
that's what I worried the most. I spotted Nissan Japan have the 2 tones, if TCM only bring 1 tones variant and trim into 2 variant really boh song (don't feel nice) oredi.
btw, about propilot.. I don't expect to have it in malaysia ckd because I know ppl here will sure argue if it is trustable tech or not, for me assistance is always assistance, it will never replace driver as what the propilot highlighted. If got means is a bonus for me.
come back to your question, if TCM only bring 1 variant (the 1 color tone model) and trim/modified into 2 variants, I will think about jump ship to others model coz I targeted the 2 tones white/black.
let's stay tuned..
(aiyo, use phone reply so many typo, edit so many time. lol)

I agreed if we get only the 1 colour tone and trim, sure potong stim... and if they bring the bumper most ppl fun like, definitely slow sales... of course there's always aftermarket later but why trouble to go thru that.
I do hope the propilot is offered as an option rather tjan permanent like the top trim CRV. Yeah... it's a bonus but can't fully rely on it. Dun want to be that dead Tesla tech reviewer.
And at estimated Rm140k.... I hope TCM don't trim down the features and equipments of it's JDM counterpart.

cross finger on the 2 tone white is available. i gona buy that. u going for this model too?
I see, I oredi tested the C26 model and amaze with what a MPV can perform especially the 3rd row stability. not the best but suis my usage the most.
I was hunger for Navara actually, however.. family needs comes first then only my desire. LOL
Same here... I test drove the Premium trim of the C26 and I like the way it drives and handles. And the biggest influence it had with me were the seat configurations. The only deal breaker at that time was the price.
Anyway... the new model is really an eye looker... I love the new styling especially the front area.

If you don't believe, just be the first purchase, it no lost to me...anyway, pls. check back all Nissan vehical sell in Malaysia for the last few years. It happen always by price reduce or over-trade.
You can keep dispute, but truth is truth & history record said it so.

absolute hookup on the exterior to me too.. especially the 2 tones while/black top. I willing to pay more for it
not giving up yet (YET). see TCM comes out with what prices and specs first. go look look, touch touch, smell smell first lo.. just no rushing feels if no 2 tones. hehehe
if no 2 tones, i need to verify if they meet my standard requirements as below; 1. price (attractiveness) 2. bank loan (% good boh) 3. TCM mods (Acceptable or not)

TCM mods? interesting.. you mean feasibility to mod to nismo?
Well, TCM does bring in those NISMO accessories and it's usually aesthetics for these ranges of Nissan.
I'm not fans of Nismo anyway. Rider mods in Japan yes but dream on to have it here ..lol (*not willing to pay like me, dream better). I just stick back to the 2 tones white/black top *Please bring this here*

Well, few of the Nismo bodykit looks nice one time on a C26 and the Grand Livina... imagine that with your favourite two tone C27.
I think what they are trying to say is that it will be "CKD'ed right from the beginning.
I know what they try to tell me & i got no objection on this, but pls. don't simply said other not study or naive.
C26 really a big failure on marketing & sales which it impact lot of owner who bought the 1st few batch which include my friend...
Even now the pricing also lower when it launch the CKD with giving huge discount...I'm following it which C26 is 1 of my selection of family car, but with what TCM handling, make me think twice how they handle the owner.
Anyway, I'm not to dispute or making prob here, but just said that I will not buying the 1st batch due to incident happen of C26, but sudden come out lot of so call "professional" comment to attack my own choice or way of buying a car...it really funny of how ppl trying to protect the car they love it...

I think every other Car Dealers does this. Hefty discounts after it become "cold" so it's not restiricted to TCM alone.
I almost buy a passat (still thinking) but wife doesn't want. Now because of year end they are willing to give up to 30K discount. That could easily translate to 1-1.5 years of monthly installment. Early buyers will be like or just look at the all new CR-V ...RM6.5K discount (6 months installment?)
I get what you mean and I agree it is wise to wait for good offering before rush in to buy one. But sometimes the joy and excitement being the first to own new models are simply fantastic.....obviously it has a price too hahaha.
been asking around got nissan salesman offer rebate 17k for c26 or should i just wait for c27 next year for sure gonna be more expensive
17k rebate? u opt for 5yrs warranty or 7yrs? the most recent i went to kepo around..max they can give is 8k, but if i take 5yrs, the rebate didnt offer up to 17k

haha..there's many types of owners
like to be the first to own like to compare like to compare new car price tag vs 3yrs later price tag like to make rage why rebate later even attractive
just like an iphone..compare until end of the day, skip this model wait next, or end up buy samseng. But u see no one or iphone 6s owner rage at apple store to complain the current price (after price drop) offered to iphone 6s..u know what i mean

For Hyundai Ioniq, HK version even does not have LKAS, AEB etc... so i think if in Malaysia, hopefully it has some feature of ProPilot from Japan too for automtically curise in highway it is not possible now, if like ioniq, half half auto then still possible
U know why HK is 10 airbags, because they separated each curtain airbags to 3 although it comes in 1 piece
so front 4, left right curtain 3, 3..total 10
if like the same, i think TC will still use "10 airbags" instead of "6 air bags" in the catalog later :-) how about 360 camera? any news? HK version the HU is 3rd party, i think TC will still look for 3rd party HU too, hope not the crap crap one

is gona be awesome if propilot is available for malaysia unit!

laughing stock la if TC use 10 airbags instead of 6 airbags..only HongKie syok sendiri
in reality it is not possible same spec as japan because different country different law.. hopefully remain same price around 140-150k with attractive spec and gift (such as the 'small table' put in the car boot)
my old car engine lamp is on again... hope it can survive until c27 is out :-)

Cannot price higher, now the price after discount hehe.. Around 120k.. is just nice to fit in.. Higher than that ppl may compare with crv, biante..
More security features pls, mpv is a family car.. The back switch to open side door, cam it be turn off? Imagine back row, normally kids sits, press that button when the car is moving.

this segment for 160K in Malaysia will never work. compare to HK, the price is attractive, everything in HK is expensive. I don't think we will have a lot of high tech toys like they have in Japan but we will have more than HK or equivalent. (this is from my research and Malaysia marketing point of view after seeing how TCM sells their specs, no doubt I not able to confirm and who knows TCM making major marketing breakthru.)
I think TCM will stick back to S26 price for S27, maybe slightly higher for first batch (if not they wouldn't give so much rebate on this S26 model if S27 price is higher than it a lot)
just my guessing la

CRV is SUV..Biante still available?
But when the price gone to that range, people might consider at least myself will.. huhuhu.. But when its about 120k+ range, the closes mpv is innova.. But no no for me, the innova..
Oh the button will only work when P, that's great, hope to have a switch to control better..

agree with u..i guess our Malaysia spec most likely the same with HK spec. JPN's tech n stuff are abit over and if TCM going to price it like current c26..then its big bonus

innova is more compact.. but given the budget 120k, i will go for exora although its national brand (*im currently driving exora)
both no sliding doors, seats are foldable and flat, 2nd row airconds, turbo, etc..not much difference but just the logo but one thing proton parts are cheaper

At the moment, for me in terms of
exterior - passed 6 SRS airbags - passed
unless TCM wanted to compete with Mr.Honta & Mr.Tolota but both mid MPV can't compete yet because this segment for model sparta & noah is not in Malaysia (*yet, maybe just don't), then will be benefit from it otherwise dream on

dont think stepwagon n noah will be in Msia..otherwise H or T's compact suv like CHR and BRV/HRV will die straight straight

yup..different segment. but based on the price tag where CHR, BRV, HRV which are above 100k, i think malaysian will swift to stepwagon/noah
innova size is like too big from far look.. my own point of view la
if have red/black, I think white/black should have.
btw, do u guys think s27 will launch together with the new leaf? most probably yes? no?
not care lol the price of the new leaf also won't cheap In Malaysia Electricity fee is more expensive than Petrol fee unless it is provided that many places got free charge

I'm not interested with the leaf also but ETCM confirmed launch leaf early mid 2018 (source from carlist), i mean since they launch new car campaigns and maybe s27 will launch together with bigger chances maybe.
conclusion, we will know that s27 will launch early mid 2018.(very limited source for s27 model at this moment)

impossible la.. those discounts u see right now because of clearing stock.
either wait for this c27 early bird promo or those common festive promo like cny, raya, etc
but chr, brv n hrv are totally different segment. they got no sliding, 8 seats and price difference. even brv can seat 8 but very tight.. unless compete with inova but no sliding door..
Br-v only 7 seater and yes, it's not as spacious as Serena. If go by size... innova>exora>br-v for the model without sliding doors

Usually no or seldom promo at launch and the discounts are usually given by SA depending on how generous they are.
i tested in HK, the leg sensor is part of the sliding door, but still manage to pull the door handle or press the button if ur lazy to use leg
Ic ok... I was wondering why not in the same place coz you know lah, how people remember only one spot. But nevertheless, it's a good feature to have...
i've got the brochure of Serena C27 from HK dealer, it never mentioned about the propilot too, it is not a4 size and difficult to scan to here, but the design is colorful and it is with chinese + english explanation.
the selling point is the 10 air bags, seat arrangement, slide door open/close using the foot, the 360 camera and the back door can half open.
i'm thinking why HK doesnt has the ProPilot thing? since their road, infrastructure is alot better than Msia
it is according whether they apply the approval from HKTD like Tesla Autopilot it is available and approved from hk gov but some feature still not available

different market, some buy c26 for comfortable price which c27 wouldn't be same discount. for me, i like the c27 coz of the exterior n dashboard interior. so c26 is not an option for me.

lol..i dont expect massive account from TCM la..
anyway, i just purchase it because of its look n features..
potential buyer here as well since have family dy... hoping they bring in the nismo version since its ECU is tuned... if only they put in a sportier engine
I had search at some HK site and look at thgeir serena C27. found out they doesn't have the Handbrake switch & auto Hold switch, still using the C26 leg hand brake. My sister drive HRV, I really like the hand brake switch... feels more hi-tech. If Malaysia Serena doesn't have this feature really boh song loooo.. feel boring a bit. I know function wise not much different compare to leg type.. but really nice to have it.. looks cool at least.
Hope they bring in 2 tone. Love the red/black combo.
May I ask, how is the serena, power-wise? The engine is the same as the previous C26 so I think should not be too much of a difference. Would appreciate if any C26 owners can feedback. I have test driven the C26 before some time ago but I cannot really experience the power since test drives are so short. Am currently driving Livina 1.8 and i feel slightly underpower compared to other 1.8.

Any idea would the new C27 have spare tyre? I remember the first C26 (pre-FL) had no spare tyre then people complained. Only then, they retrofitted a spare tyre in the FL model.

no idea on this.. but if tcm doesnt offer, i will buy the tyre & carriage from 3rd party
haha..i thought your hashtag is #whitecolourblackroof
is ok, i scare tcm doesn't have it on first launch. i just go for black, if have then go for white dual tone. i duwan drive avanza oredi, soooo boring.
But sadly ...no spare tire....no smart seats...but second row with captain seats, 6x USB port ...2 specs , basic 15 inch rim...highest 16 inch C26 CKD Rim .
C27 specs is really good...what u saw from japan beside propilot...all got, thats what can share from insider hehhe

If the base spec dont have then ok la but if even high spec don't have then a bit disappointing lor. E-brakes are becoming a norm with new generation cars and surely auto hold would be good to use in stop and go traffic here.

exactly, even i don't really fancy the electronic handbrake or autohold still it look cool to me comparing that left foot brake.
sadly i don't have much choice to choose for this segment. need a spacious mpv for family. i have to buy it with or without the fancy features.
oh wait, e-brake n electronic handbrake is 2 different things. e-brake only for electric car and electronic handbrake is just replacing the old handbrake.

ya, looking at their spec is without electronic brake. but their image inside has the brake. anyway, no choice le..need to forgo this eletronic brake..
I watch almost all utube from HK, all doesn't comes with the electronic handbrake and non of then mentioned before.
like I said, just a fancy feature which makes it nicer to look at. anyway, no choice also if tcm don't give.
*that picture even have propilot if u notice the blue button on the steering. hehe

Sorry, when I mentioned e-brake, I was referring to the electronic parking brake and autohold.
No adaptive cruise control ? No Collision Mitigation Braking System? Ada apa intelligent sensor?
Only left is HI (Human Intelligence), is sad I know. Even electronic handbrake like the one in HRV also don't have, they use back their old foot handbrake. sad right? Nothing we can do, take it or leave it.
Added someone in FB telling me gor salesman told them TCM not going to release C27 in 2018, rumors la.. they say I just listen lo. IF really not release in 2018 means I gonna jump ship anytime. Not going to wait till 2019

Like I said before "TC very old men thinking company! WTF!" Very innovative selling 2013 models in 2018! Very exciting for the old men in TC!

btw, if c27 not out in 2018...not only u n me will jump ship, i think all their staff will jump ship
aiya, if I'm the salesman and customer asking when will C27 launch, I will tell them 2020 coz I need to sell off those C26. LOL
from all rumors I heard, the launching is somewhere around april, may, june n july. we just wait bah..
from the aspect of salesman, commission is the king if you are salesman of course tell ppl got new car if you are TC of course hold on and sell off all C26 first
Haha...ok...I wait... Actually, the C27 is already launched in Malaysia. For those who cannot wait, you may proceed to...................... ...........Toys-r-us and look for Tomica No.94!!!!!!
ya meh..i didnt see it in toyrus
i bought mine in Hong Kong, red unit.. not sure e-power tomica will launch not

haiks... hope they give nice pricing, else, a bit hard to choose also, crv or this.. if pricing too close.. current discounted c26, of course will take c26.. but if near crv price, really hard to choose.. this is 2.0, roadtax much more expensive.. nice car thou... if they give special price during launching like last time, then gooding..

i dont think TCM will price sky high for this c27...
plus minus 5k?
c26 is a good deal now...for those wants a MPV for family but doesnt mind the handsome look like c27, definitely can cash & carry home
walao cash and carry....
agreed, tcm cannot price high for this.. else it crossed the other car border.. 12x.. u sure win... higher than that ppl will start compare.... and also give those posted here special discount fir helping u to do some pre marketing... haha.. im serious..
I thought so too but an SA told me it meant Internal Combustion Engine.
Normal NA engine without s-hybrid.
ohhhhh ini macam maksudnya....
so i guess;
ICE - normal engine
S-Hybrid - normal engine with start/stop feature like current model
S-Hybrid Premium - normal engine with start/stop feature like current model plus leather seats/ICE (Roof Mounted LCD Screen)/maybe some skirting, spoilers, etc.....
guys, i just called up TCM..no official nor unofficial booking open yet. Those SA said can place booking now merely just the SA hold up your booking money, so k/ please be careful

i duwan discuss cx5 here lo, later TS kick me. no topic relevant. if u plan for 7 seats, cx5 definitely not your choice.. for me small family only 1 kid no problem. *warning*, do not visit Mazda showroom... sure kena poison 9 9... believe me, the poison hited me real hard

i tot just a gimmick or bombastic name like e-power?
i read mazda cars..to me, skyactive is a name for their engine didn't relate to car performance
I thought the arm console can move to the 2nd row and flip to become a seat. So total will have 3 seats in the 2nd row. Still a 8seater right? (2-3-3)
i heard for C27 malaysia version, no more movable arm console, 2nd role fix to become 2 seater like captain seat with own arm rest...anyone can confirm?

Wtf.. That's a huge minus for me. I guess need to wait for the official release then can know..
check with few different branch of nissan agents, all say the same thing..C27 will be 7 seater, no longer 8 seater...
huge minus for me as well.......this moveable arm console is quite signarue design for nissan serena, don undertsand why malaysia do not provide this design for c27...
if c27 really only launch with 7 seater option, then i will pas this and look for other option...
check with few different branch of nissan agents, all say the same thing..C27 will be 7 seater, no longer 8 seater...

Hong Kong version is 7/8 seat configuration, no idea why TCM so smart to remove this feature....
i heard for C27 malaysia version, no more movable arm console, 2nd role fix to become 2 seater like captain seat with own arm rest...anyone can confirm?
Sure or not? The 7 seater version is the Nissan Serena e-power version. Although, there is mention that e-power engines will be made available here but I don't think is so soon.
yup..if there is captain seats at 2nd row, the center console needs to remove. Because the captain seats come with armrest. Hence, if the center console is there, you wont able to lift up the console to be a spare seat.
I prefer captain seat so can use for biz purpose, bring my partners around LOL..those with kids, they will run from 3rd row to the front

U can called and ask the nissan sales agents, i called 3 branches they all tell me the same thing, 2nd row will be 2 captain seats with own arm rest, wont able convert to 3 seats. So c27 will be 7 seater only.
Don understand why TCM wan to remove this option, this is one of the very unique selling point for serena...
In my opinion, the captain seats make the car more classy....lol
but i like the mobile armrest/console, hope TC could remain it and make it fix at front role as extra storage compartment 2nd as captain seats with individual armrest .....greedy.....hahaha

agree.. i prefer the flexibility.. not sure why? cost cutting?
ohhh no. no more flexibility if they remove the "smart" armrest... wrong move TCM...very wrong... well, need to continue searching for an overall MPV winner....

Ya agree.....wish to get a spacious8 seater and this serena is my first choice, but with the new c27 become only 7 seater...will give it a pass...

Asked one of the SA and yes, it will be a 7 seater it seems. Sigh...
First no electronic parking brake...now no 8 seater....wt???
Come on la TCM.....need to cut until like that meh??
If it is a 7 seater and captain seat with arm rest, i personally prefer this as not only classy, but an arm rest comes in handy, based on my current experience with C26
hhhhmmmm really only 7 seater version or TCM wants to clear old stocks and spread rumours... kekeke....
Personally i wont buy c26 8 seater because c27 will have major change and upgrade, if the c27 only 7 seater is a trick for agents to clear old c26 stock... then good luck... i rather go for estima recon car with 8 seater and much more better outlook instead of c27 7 seater only

do agree with u... just the exterior looks on the C27 is much more appealing that C26... just that with the "Smart" seats arrangement of C26 is such a ++ to my purchase of a MPV.
Estima is cool looking but too pricey for a Recond car and the fuel consumption is high...
Don't understand why TCM keep cutting corners... make the options available for customer to choose... how hard is it to have different 2 different seats configuration as the rail in already there.... shakehead

if i m not mistaken, cars like estima or velfire with 8 seats is to be used as taxi in japan while 7 seats is mainly for family used. hence mileage of 8 seats is usually higher. e.g. velfire with 8 seats, X series is usually being sold at a cheaper price. correct me if i m wrong

Agreed with most of the comments above that the current 8-seater arrange is a big selling point for Serena as with the center seat pushed forward, it will also become a comfy 7-seater. And when it's needed, can always be converted into a 8-seater.
But if TC is going to put the pilot seats into the C27, then good luck as I believe a huge % of potential buyer will look for the other options.

ady saw the real car ....quite nice...if you don't kira it's local assembled .
if 7seaters, the choice for me would be outlander/crv.. so i wait and see.. black outlander really tempting..
My personal opinion; CRV is 5 seats, even though Outlander is 7 seats, but it is more likely is 5+2 seats; as for a normal Malaysia family size which are couple + parents + 2/3 kids, then you need to go for “real” 7 or 8 seats MPV.
Currently, I’m driving Grand Livina which is 5+2 seats; seriously there is not enough room for teenagers at 3rd row.

dunno what they are thinking.. less $ less security.. should have the equal airbag and reverse camera.. other accessory u cut dun mind.. but not safety...
the moment has come, called TCM glenmarie a few days ago, preview on april, , official launch may, no exact date given, gave my hp no and they will wasap the actual date for preview, only at glenmarie branch and i think other selected branches ( u need to confirm on this), the said booking can be made on preview day, off course all subject to changes.

Great!! Finally TCM launch a new car, can't remember when TCM last launched something new

exactly. 125k and 2 airbags? WTF they thinking. nowadays cars differentiate specs by add-ons and dingdongs... not safety..
Is there possible TC will sell 8 seater c27 after all the old stocks have been sold out? Who knows? Maybe this is their marketing strategy? Haiz...I really wish to buy the one with 8 seater la...really so disappointed when knowing that M'sia only got 7 seater one..how come?? TC should supply both types la..
I believe TC has done the market survey of the Malaysian family size that majority consist of 6 to 7 members; so 7 seats is perfect fit with captain seats + arm rest.
This is not only look classy, it also provide more comfortable for adult passengers especially elderly.

depends, to me personally flexibility is important.. we never know when we need to fit in 8.. too many 7 seater, if 8 seater, not much in the same range..

Agree with u, prefer 8 seater as well.
Looks like c27 confirm is 7 seater. Wont consider anymore

Ya, flexible change from 7 seater to 8 seater design is uniqe selling point for serena, they take out this option is stupid move
Estima, the Serena main competitor, is cheaper for 8 seater variant vs 7 seater variant Therefore, their logic maybe if sell C27 as 8 seater, the price gap with Estima is smaller. C27 7 seater will have a bigger price gap to Estima, should be easier to sell. LOL

I second this. In the case of Estima, Vellfire & Alphard, not many are getting the 8 seaters version coz that is less comfort. Serena C26 when doing 8 seats, it's quite a suffers for the center pessengers in 2nd and 3rd.
For probably 90% of the family, a proper 6 seats is already sufficient. Maybe 7 seats add another few %, but for 8 seats and above I think this are the absolute minority of TCM target customer. The management has do offer what is best for the brand I guess
Yes, personally I would take 7 seats anytime over 8 seats.

IMO those 8 seater can't be converted into a 7 seater, but this can be done with the current Serena. That's a huge benefit shall you need to carry 8 people, safety with own seatbelt. Else just push the 2nd row middle seat to the front as an armrest and you will get a nice comfy 7 seater
BTW spoken to an SA last weekend, he said that the new Serena will maintain the current seating config. So let's wait and see

u can import the center seat from Japan.. but thing is you need to forego the captain seats

it just like other suv which offer 5+2, which the +2 isnt a real seat

I don't think it will be so easy coz if it is a 7 seater, then most probably the flooring will be following the e-power layout which does not have the rail tracks for the centre seat as the e-power model has a fixed centre console between the front seats. You can search e-power serena on youtube to see what i mean.

Wow, the 7 seats interior really looks nice to me. One thing that I don't like about my in-law's C26 is the lack of armrest in the middle row, dunno where to put my arms at time
This 7 seats configuration is matching upto Estima level, now Nissan only needs to improve the bloody CVT transmission

Actually yea, 7 seater not that bad. However, in my personal opinion, the price should not breach the RM150k mark then it will be more attractive.
My concern is actually the engine and transmission. A 2.0 with CVT pulling 1.7 tons.....wow. Any C26 users out there that can feedback on the engine performance?

Yes, the 2nd / middle row if fitted with arm rest will be good, not only looks classy but "something" to hold. My mum always complaint on this whenever she sits on my C26
I personally dislikes CVT but many Japanese makes comes with CVT

Hi Antzfield, you mentioned that you own a C26. Is it possible to share your thoughts on the performance of the engine and CVT? E.g. overtaking on highway ok or not?, engine noisy or not, etc..?

Would really appreciate it. Thanks.
Hi! i have been driving this car since 2013 (if my memory serves me right), the CBU model.
I usually switch off the eco mode as i hates it where if econ mode is on, it is very sluggish.
With the econ mode is off, it has more power, won't say very good (my previous 8th gen Accord 2.0 is better) but sufficient, and for normal cruise driving, the engine sound is good and rather decent quiet. However, when you stamped on the gas pedal, say overtaking, it is painfully loud. Power just nice and don't expect immediate push due to it is a CVT GB.
Overall, it is a comfort MPV, for the price, i am happy with it and so does my kids.
However, Nissan's parts are not so durable if i compare to Honda, which my previous rides of Grand Livina having the same experience too. Could be just me.

my guts feeling it wont exceed 150k la..unless there is special edition like nismo, then only make sense
tried c26, went up genting still acceptable based on this size & weight. If u felt underpower, suggest to off eco mode.
However if u says like balik kampung or highway journey..definitely fuel saving..alot.

Thanks for your feedback, Antzfield. At least some real owner's experience rather than those car reviews by professional reviewers.
I have watched on youtube the C27 can be quite loud.
How does it compare with your previous Grand Livina in terms of performance? I am actually driving a Grand Livina 1.8 now and I find it slightly underpowered at times, to be honest. A 1.8 engine but 121hp is about the same output as a 1.5. Other 1.8 engines have at least 140hp. That's why on highways, I have to plan my overtaking very carefully.
Regarding parts durability, so far I have changed the petrol filter twice and recently my engine mountings are giving up.

Well!! My previous grand livina also 1.8. So don't expect too much it's still sufficient for daily ride but not those great power as with those turbo powered engine. Sometimes after driving my daily car (turbo) and drive the Serena during weekend is stressful, so just be patient before over taking. Serena is still a comfortable family people mover though. For that price, not bad lah

usually u will felt/heard the engine sound louder in a mpv because this type of vehicle has a shorter engine bay (not sure is it called like this). The bay is more compact and nearer to driver hence the noise insulation wont be as great as SUV/Sedans.
I drove Alphard..even not going up hill, when sudden accelerate, same i can heard the loud engine inside my car i expect this is common in mpv and so far the sound still acceptable as long as not like drive bus/lorry

What is your Livina mileage when you changed your petrol filter and engine mountings? What are the indications that these parts would need to be changed?

Can't really remember exactly when the petrol filter was changed. I think it was 2nd or 3rd year of ownership. The car was not smooth when pushed. As for the engine mounting, it is just recently after 5+ years of ownership that I was alerted by Nissan Service that the mounting is kaput. I have still to arrange a time to change.
Msia Spec as for now.. unless the display unit is not Msia spec and its Hong Kong spec
Gee!! Thanks!! looks much improvement from current C26
The fuel consumption as claimed will be improved to 14.2km / L, not sure how good will it be, but the current C26 not as soon as i thought, i am not heavy foot but average 9km (or lower) / L. My wife's 2.5L CX5 gets better mileage than the current C26

careful tips, remember to place booking with SA from official Nissan showroom or authorized dealers. Cross check their name card from the website http://www.nissan.com.my/locateus?location=showrooms . If you want to make sure ur new car is confirmed and want to get car after launch, follow my advice
PLEASE remember to take the receipt of deposit as proof of document. Genuine SA will give you a copy.
Try to avoid C27 fb ads in FB, dont simply online transfer payment and make sure u see the actual car with ur eyes before place booking. Most frequent one is the ad from C**bine Motor Truck S/B advertise heavily in FB. A close friend of mine told me that this co. isn't Nissan authorized dealer. I verified, memang not in official Nissan web so be smart ya

Try to avoid C27 fb ads in FB, dont simply online transfer payment and make sure u see the actual car with ur eyes before place booking. Most frequent one is the ad from C**bine Motor S/B advertise heavily in FB. A close friend of mine told me that this co. isn't Nissan authorized dealer. I verified, memang not in official Nissan web so be smart ya

remove the 8th seat is the bad decision...thats serena special selling point..to fetch 7 or 8 persons we can adjust ourselves with the magic seat..but why TCM remove it
"island display" just can view exterior? interior still not open for viewing?
yep..island display is for exterior viewing only. The interior might not be Msia spec. Hence, if they show u the interior also no point. Similar to C-HR case, toyota has this display somewhere in mall but that spec is Aussie spec. LOL..so all public place the booking based on Aussie spec. Once Msia spec launched, all refund booking fee but no idea why PaulineTan written Toyota has 1500 booking in waiting list
i dont know the age of magpie2000's kids unless u told me the kids at 12 y.o still sitting on child seat.. then confirm this 7-seater mpv doesnt fit your requirement
p/s: Dont be shock, there is 12 yo child seat

Well, i am not shock coz i bought all-in-one child car seats that can sit till the age of 12, haha.. Most small mpv cannot put child car seats at the 3rd row due to the limited leg room space. This car probably can put child car seats at the third row because the 2nd row can adjust forward but too bad cannot squeeze 3 child car seats at the third row (3 crossovers).

Practically it's only a 6-seater now, so good enough for a small family. They are going to loose some sales here, but might get some looking for "exclusive" budget MPV.

our brother atah here is richie rich
150k MPV is budget
By budget I meant those looking for "exclusive" MPVs with captain seats, where now I think the options will cost more than 250k. So 150k will be "budget" for them

Agree with you. As i am looking for a 7 seater car for my extended family. First looking at 7 seater SUV but end up looking at MPV which is more family friendly.
RM150k for a new MPV still affordable as compare to those recon 2013 or 2014 mpv. To find a good recon dealer is hard. Lucky timing is good for Nissan to launch the new serena. If not i have to go for Mazda Biante.

Bro, i thought Biante has stop production? or u mean used car?
i own innova, the 3rd row seat can only fit 2 person, my teenagers 15 n 19 still can sit but a bit uncomfortable due to higher floor board, am looking into serena for comfortable 3rd row seat, i think the middle row just nice for my 2 20+ sons, if it's not much difference than no point switching cars, actually maxus fits nicely but not so confidence on the brand, so anyone own serena with similiar situation, please share, tqvm
So the sliding middle seat that can go to the front from second row will be gone in c27? I think that particular design is good.
yup, based on the leaflet received and verified with SA, middle seat now replaced with captain seat with armrest.. the sliding small seat gotta forego. The small seat cant flip up because will block by the captain seat's armrest

innova was one of my choice before i see this new serena..
but the high platform and the slant roof at 3rd row, end up when i sit inside, almost kena my head and i hate to bend my legs...felt so oppressed.
so this time i will go test on this serena also..thereafter only decide to place booking
Maxus from WestStar..which model u refer to? btw, any idea WestStar service center? i only saw showroom in Jalan Tun Razak
Disappointed by Nissan, road show in cheras leisure mall not allow customer to see the interior, what is the point for the road show for then? Ask you Pre order without see the car 😂😂😂

I thought Roadshow means we can get in the car and have a look the interior...and even can try to sit at the 3rd row..if like that..really no point to go there...
hahaha..i was there too, sambil makan mcd ice cream sambil see the car
anyway, SA told that if wanna see interior, coming weekend they have this new serena in their showroom and can test drive as well.. central so far is Glenmarie and Jalan Raja Laut which i've earlier registered myself.. my slot is in glenmarie next weekend

the model is maxus G10, i test drive last december, comfortable and smooth to drive, price at that time was 128K for sports model and 148K for SE, the downside for this as well as other MPVs the resale value is too low, my innova 2012 G model full specs with only 48k milage can only fetch around 40-45K, and i hv to take abt 100k loan for the new serena, wah lan !!!
This being said, most MPVs once buy use until die, whichever comes first. FYI the showroom cum service center is at Glenmarie. Actually really hoping the new serena sitting space can fit 7 adults comfortably, if no then what the point changing.
