I second this.  In the case of Estima, Vellfire & Alphard, not many are getting the 8 seaters version coz that is less comfort.  Serena C26 when doing 8 seats, it's quite a suffers for the center pessengers in 2nd and 3rd.

For probably 90% of the family, a proper 6 seats is already sufficient.  Maybe 7 seats add another few %, but for 8 seats and above I think this are the absolute minority of TCM target customer.  The management has do offer what is best for the brand I guess wink.gif

Yes, personally I would take 7 seats anytime over 8 seats.

agree...

it just like other suv which offer 5+2, which the +2 isnt a real seat bangwall.gif

Great... Must be huge discount for c26. If there's nothing much interesting in c27, then c26 is a good buy.
I see no pro pilot in the spec above.

C26 last i heard no more production already and quite sold off during end of last year. This is the salesman told me la.

u can import the center seat from Japan.. but thing is you need to forego the captain seats  biggrin.gif

I don't think it will be so easy coz if it is a 7 seater, then most probably the flooring will be following the e-power layout which does not have the rail tracks for the centre seat as the e-power model has a fixed centre console between the front seats. You can search e-power serena on youtube to see what i mean.

yup..if there is captain seats at 2nd row, the center console needs to remove. Because the captain seats come with armrest. Hence, if the center console is there, you wont able to lift up the console to be a spare seat.

I prefer captain seat so can use for biz purpose, bring my partners around  biggrin.gif  LOL..those with kids, they will run from 3rd row to the front  laugh.gif

Wow, the 7 seats interior really looks nice to me. One thing that I don't like about my in-law's C26 is the lack of armrest in the middle row, dunno where to put my arms at time blink.gif

This 7 seats configuration is matching upto Estima level, now Nissan only needs to improve the bloody CVT transmission

Actually yea, 7 seater not that bad. However, in my personal opinion, the price should not breach the RM150k mark then it will be more attractive.

My concern is actually the engine and transmission. A 2.0 with CVT pulling 1.7 tons.....wow. Any C26 users out there that can feedback on the engine performance?

Yes, the 2nd / middle row if fitted with arm rest will be good, not only looks classy but "something" to hold. brows.gif My mum always complaint on this whenever she sits on my C26

I personally dislikes CVT but many Japanese makes comes with CVT

Hi Antzfield, you mentioned that you own a C26. Is it possible to share your thoughts on the performance of the engine and CVT? E.g. overtaking on highway ok or not?, engine noisy or not, etc..?

Would really appreciate it. Thanks. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi! i have been driving this car since 2013 (if my memory serves me right), the CBU model.

I usually switch off the eco mode as i hates it where if econ mode is on, it is very sluggish. bye.gif

With the econ mode is off, it has more power, won't say very good (my previous 8th gen Accord 2.0 is better) but sufficient, and for normal cruise driving, the engine sound is good and rather decent quiet. However, when you stamped on the gas pedal, say overtaking, it is painfully loud. Power just nice and don't expect immediate push due to it is a CVT GB.

Overall, it is a comfort MPV, for the price, i am happy with it and so does my kids. brows.gif

However, Nissan's parts are not so durable if i compare to Honda, which my previous rides of Grand Livina having the same experience too. Could be just me.

my guts feeling it wont exceed 150k la..unless there is special edition like nismo, then only make sense

tried c26, went up genting still acceptable based on this size & weight. If u felt underpower, suggest to off eco mode.

However if u says like balik kampung or highway journey..definitely fuel saving..alot. thumbup.gif

Thanks for your feedback, Antzfield. At least some real owner's experience rather than those car reviews by professional reviewers.

I have watched on youtube the C27 can be quite loud.

How does it compare with your previous Grand Livina in terms of performance? I am actually driving a Grand Livina 1.8 now and I find it slightly underpowered at times, to be honest. A 1.8 engine but 121hp is about the same output as a 1.5. Other 1.8 engines have at least 140hp. That's why on highways, I have to plan my overtaking very carefully.

Regarding parts durability, so far I have changed the petrol filter twice and recently my engine mountings are giving up.

If acceptable going up Genting, then it can't be that bad.... laugh.gif

Well, can't expect too much from a comfort MPV.

Well!! My previous grand livina also 1.8. So don't expect too much smile.gif it's still sufficient for daily ride but not those great power as with those turbo powered engine. Sometimes after driving my daily car (turbo) and drive the Serena during weekend is stressful, so just be patient before over taking. tongue.gif Serena is still a comfortable family people mover though. For that price, not bad lah

usually u will felt/heard the engine sound louder in a mpv because this type of vehicle has a shorter engine bay (not sure is it called like this). The bay is more compact and nearer to driver hence the noise insulation wont be as great as SUV/Sedans.

I drove Alphard..even not going up hill, when sudden accelerate, same i can heard the loud engine inside my car blush.gif i expect this is common in mpv and so far the sound still acceptable as long as not like drive bus/lorry biggrin.gif
