QUOTE(naqib0307 @ Aug 1 2018, 07:18 PM) First is, drive not so fast also can hear wind noise. Then they change dual layer front window. Then now this. And then another warning. Left right light. Left n right indicator. Brake assist malfunction, then got engine indicator also. 1 by 1 la appear. Sorry to hear about your problem with your GLC, bro naqib... Hope it has been solved to your satisfaction. I'm also interested in a GLC 250 and have been reading about the model's performance and issues, if any. Recently, I found this: A problem with the steering geometry in right-hand drive cars (Mercs originally produced as left-hand drives?) called "crabbing". According to posts in UK and OZ GLC sites, steering right causes the ca to judder and jerk... MB has proposed changing type of tyres it seems. https://www.glcforums.com/forum/322-glc-iss...ng-lock-92.htmlWondering if any such issues in the GLCs here. I've owned an E200 and a CLK200K in the past and never came across this problem. Thanks for your views, guys!

QUOTE(19 Degree South @ Sep 22 2018, 02:33 AM) Lower your expectations to the proton level than u r safe! Now, now 19 Degree South...Let me try again. You don't have to knock proton just because I asked a sincere question about Mercs in different environments:- Some people vouch for certain proton models for their value for money while come conti owners knock their cars for going south in performance and reliability. If Mercs here don't have the problem I pointed up, just say so... As I said in the post, I've used certain models before together with a sweet e34 for several years with their own share of issues. Cheers!

QUOTE(19 Degree South @ Sep 23 2018, 03:09 PM) I was talking facts! Why were you so defensive on proton? I am also a mercs owner and I merely talking about owning experience! Believed it or not it's your prerogative! Older models have far more great qualities than those recent models! Eg. W124! IMO Your last statement is the 'fact' we should be talking about here. I wasn't singling out protons to defend but you were to compare them with Merc issues. Why... people talk about Peugeots and even Audis in less than favourable ways. BTW my merc E200 was a W124 and I can't help wondering why the more recent models don't drive and feel like it on the road. I thought the GLC might be better and was surprised to read about the crabbing problem in RH drive models, thus the post to ask about it. Again, if you or anyone else drives a GLC and find the owning experience satisfying, do write about it for the benefit of interested future owners.

QUOTE(19 Degree South @ Sep 23 2018, 10:26 PM) No offence bro! I was saying When one paid a few hundred grands for a car and it should live up to its worth ! When my dad had his w124 , the materials used on that car was top notch! Now after donkey years, my uncle is still driving it and the interior is still in decent conditions! Just take a look at the cheap plastic used in the current or recent models! After few years of usage, the plastic starts to peel off! Wtf! If I paid 40k for a potong then I won't complain la! Can't comment much on the GLC as I am driving w205! Both share the same platform by the way! The mini touch pad on the steering wheel is another crappy feature! Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't! yes...till now I also couldn't figure out the operation of the air cond ! sometimes strong air blowing out from the side middle vent ! How to control that huh? Of course, no offence intended none taken bro! Agree too that cars should live up to their worth in the hundreds of thousands we pay. Talking of which, I had a good offer recently on a C250 W205 (2016)...I let go and started looking at GLC250s... Having driven a Land Cruiser, a Pajero and even a Vitara over the last 4 years in the GCC, I suppose I've grown accustomed to the higher seating position and performance on road:-) Yup...materials and reliability do seem to have taken a down turn in recent years although Mercs here seem to have surpassed Bimmers in sales...
