How is the maintenance cost for W211 E200k?
*
hi,

my dad used to have W211 E240 Japan spec.
average or normal service easily somewhere 700-900rm. that is done at Normal Mercedes specialist in Kajang/Bangi.
The shop advice him on doing the Gearbox Oil Flushing during the GB Oil Change. That can add up around 400rm to the normal service.

He sold the W210 E200K after the Kompressor become kaput/lost of power. That time the Kompressor replacement is RM7k for Recond unit. Then the Steering column broken, need fought out around rm2k that time.
If u have to change absorber x4, its can goes up to 2.4k if im not mistaken.

my brother in law have W211 E270 CDI engine. Even more problematic during service.
Major headache is when the Airmatic suspention K.O. He until now don't want to share the cost of it. E270CDI accessories is a Full Spec, u can get the same accessories like W211 E500 like in the UK.

burp. It's totally different from what my friend told me. My friend who own a polo sedan and he told me that the ride quality is real. I drive before his car, feel real great.

But sometimes, it depend on the preference. Although it's drop but still people are purchasing especially during this raya promotion. Now many vw car on the road.  hmm.gif

My colleague also own a polo sedan.

It a N.A 1.6 engine with torque converter 6 gear auto.

Not fancy like others VW, DSG and those turbo engine IMHO

Hi All,

I hope this would be a good & fair forum for me to inquire about purchasing a merc.

My brother currently has a 2nd hand W210 and is now thinking of a possible upgrade. Problem is he is a little fickle minded. So i am trying to help him out with the experts from here.

His first thought is to get s W221 within the budget of 150K which hopefully can come with as many bells & whistle as it can like the media & sound system as well as the built in phone. So anyone know a good location to get 1 from? Also what should be the key things to look for to help ensure its a good buy. its been a lot of work trying to navigate around so much info related to this car yet not find the right answers

The 2nd option my brother is toying with is to maybe get 2 cars - a W220 & W211.

From what i have been reading (and i could be wrong) seems like the W220's airmatic is more of an issue as many ask questions on replacing it. Is it true that in the W220 this is a key pain point? Also how about the electronics?

I also noticed there does not seem to be any S280L. Was the LWB only with the 320?

On the W211 - what would be the key things to look out for? Btw the cabin space is smaller then the W210 right? or is it just me feeling so?

Really hope to get some good insights from the sifus here.

Try getting the facelift w211 E230. It have many features vs like E200k.

211hp with V6 engine.
Somemore got Gps build in Radio, xenon light and best looking 17 or 18 wheel

W211 vs w210

I all,

I am looking to upgrade from the current 1997 W210 to a W211. Would like to ask what are the things i should look out for when doing this change

I am looking for the 2007 model and above since apparently from this year onward the mechanical & electrical issues were resolved.

Also does the W211 provide a much better mileage compared to the W210 or is it very minor?

My focus is towards the E200 range simply because its more economical to maintain plus the insurance & road tax is way lower  but i am keeping an open mind towards the other ranges as well just in case it as better offerings.

Hoping to get some good tips.

My family had a W211 E240 japan spec back then, it comes with 2.6NA engine, not full performance, around 177hp. it great to drive on highway.

pro:
less thing to take care, ie kompressor, when it is a NA engine.
comes with harmon kardon speaker, great
ok performance
reliable, relatively ok vs bmw 525 E60. checking on various case at the workshop

cons:
fc kinda terrible if compared with japan 2.4 engine, average 9-10km/l
service fees, as average spending closed to 1k -1.3k per normal service.
SBC brake, mine is 2004 units, have to fork out money to change after those SBC alarm problem, end up selling this unit back then.
HID original headlamp is kinda poor light output vs others car with HID.personal experience

Thanks Ayamxxx for that input

btw..whats NA engine?

so i hope the 2007 build onwards would be better right? one of the reason why i rather get the year 2007 model onwards
*
NA stand for natural aspirated engine, non turbo.
believe latest w211 (not sure which year onwards) have replaced the SBC brake thingy to the conventional brake system. it is pricey to replace the so-called SBC module which is designed to be replaced after reached certain time/year.

anyway, best bang for money, would be taking up the W211 E230. it is a 2.5 Engine, with Valve timing (better fc), 201 hp, v6, non SBC brake, with comand aps with malaysia maps (sure outdated), 7 gear auto iinm. it was the last model for w211 and supposedly have made lots of improvement on any problem for earlier w211 e200, 240,280etc2

Lemon unit? Hmm.. Wondering wats taking them so long?

Imagine the e250 is due for servicing and u still haven't received your car. Then u bring the e250 for servicing I wonder how the SC customer service officer's face looks like when he understands your situation, lol..

But i doubt u will encounter this kind of situation. They probably switch you another car.

Might be they ask to change to other car.

They are supposed to deliver the car last Saturday but when they were checking the car they found out the CD player is stucked. So they need to replace the whole thing on Monday and deliver it today. Good thing about their repair is they pick up n send it back @ home. Got extra 2 years warranty and free service  rclxms.gif

*
Sure can. Take the silicone wiper based. Much better than the rubber based.

Dear All sifus,

I am interested on a W204 C200 AMG Grand Edition (last batch in 2014). Asking price RM110K otr. Mileage 33,000 km. Would like to know what is the maintenance cost for servicing and replacement of common fair wear and tear parts? Is this model reliable? For this AMG grand edition with 33,000km mileage, is the price reasonable?

Thank you in advance for your help  notworthy.gif

Or buy a bmw with 5 years free maintenance. Then can sell away cheap after the warranty end

hi guys, will be getting my A35 (still choosing whether to go with C&C or Hapseng)

Both offered me free tint - C&C = Premium Guard, HS = Wingard

Is either of these good? i've been using 3M crystalline so far
*
check which model they offered, top of the line or basic model? Using Wingard Royal on my car, ok good and Smart tag friendly
