Hi, i currently having an eyes on C200. any know how much it cost for a normal service (3rd party mechanic) ?
*
simple! U want drive premium car, you pay premium! Normal ah kow, mat rock workshop would charge about 20-30%less than franchise workshop! The labour charge at franchise is a killer. If your ride is still under warranty, you would have no choice but to LPPL let the franchise slaughter you kao kao! Hope this would paint a little picture about owning a MB!

Just got back from the launch of the c class at nz wheel. I must say the w205 is really superb!everything is so atas inside! The downside is c250 now comes only in elegance trim instead of the advant garde! Think the marketing strategy for the 250 is to targeting those s class wannabe! It's really the smaller version of the s!

If you are referring to normal service (engine oil, oil filter, and the necessary check), it is not expensive. About RM500 for 3rd party mechanic.

Major service, Service B cost a lot more, usually above RM1,500. Like 19 deg South mentioned, you have to pay for it since MB doesn't come cheap.
Geniuz, yup. Must go and kepoh on W205. Beautiful.
*
Now it's getter dearer to maintain a c class. The w205 now come with run flat tyres for both versions!

Went to check it out on Sunday. The C200 looks better and I prefer its Avantgarde interior than the C250 Exclusive. I asked the SA whether can choose lacquered black trim for C250. Like you said, only the out of place wood trim. Potong stim.  No test drive atm. Keen to try out the C250 performance with its claimed acceleration of 6.6s.

Overall, the W205 is beautiful; exterior and interior. Not trying to bash BMW 3 series, the 3 interior does not exude such luxury feel.

The boot size seems to be shallower. Or is it me only?
*
Be it black or walnut, I just can't accept the look of those wood trim! I prefer those alloy trim on my current ride! Looks sportier! Was told the Ckd c250 can opt for advant garde or AMG trim" . I also felt that the boot space of my 204 is roomier than 205. Maybe it's because the rear seat leg room is slightly longer than the 204.

My sa also thrown in a set of nice floor mat for my car. Not those cut piece from ah Beng accessories shop type! This of course not buying from see &see!

Guys im jumping ship from BMW to Merc for the CLA 200, so far the reviews for this car both locally and internationally has been bad but sales figure wise proved different story, its one of the most successful model to date by Merc Benz, in fact many countries not only in Malaysia (8months waiting list last checked) are not catching fast enough for the demand.

My budget allows me to go for A250 or the CLA200 only, im in a dilemma coz i dont like hatchback sad.gif

So what say u guys?
*
Personal opinion. The A class looks much better than the cla! Cla rear damn ugly! Sonata looks alike! Furthermore, A250 is a more powderful car than the cla. biggrin.gif

There were 2 SA, 1 was with a customer, another was at the reception counter busy on her phone, probably chatting on watsapp. She looked up to look at us and then look down again on her phone as if not interested to entertain us. Macam hampas....

Me and wife walked off smiling, glad that we are not going to give this branch the business.

Hi all MB owners,

Currently my family is looking for 1 pre-owned unit C200, and there are some questions hope you guys can answer me.

1. Can any one tell what's the difference between w204 c200 facelift elegance and avantgarde ?

2. any specific known issue regarding this model ?

3. been quoted ard rm210k for the c200, still have 3 years warranty, is it a goo buy?
*
1. Steering wheel is different. AV looks sporty! No wood trim on the AV ! Rim is different bet the two! The front grille is the sporty type with MB logo in the middle and not the uncle type with MB emblem on top!

2. Car Sway to the left issue( common ). Air cond filter tend to get smelly after two years. Other than that no common known issues!

3. Think it's exp lor! One year car should be the one after huge discount. New car around rm 242k. After used one year still want to sell so high price ah. Should be below 200k.

1. apart frm 3 spoke steering, sportier rims, mb logo grill, nothing much different already right ?

3. u mean 242k is the list price for c200 AV?  actually the unit is under CnC, not exactly past 1 year yet, and the mileage shouldnt be too high, so should still good to go right for that price quoted ?
*
1. Don't think so unless it's the c250.

2. If from see &see then they should give u 4 yrs warranty mah? All pre-owned for dealers get 4 yrs warranty . That's why I don't like see &see. I think they are short changing u lor. 242 k is not the list price but the discounted price to clear stock as MBM try to clear before the launch of the w205! Best is you can pressed the price down further lor since w205 is out Liao!

Now banks grant loan according to your total liabilities! If your nett liabilities is 70 or 80% of your nett income , they will decline yr app as per BNM 's directives "

Went over to cycle and carriage at regent house few weeks back and they were offering 20k rebate for the e200. Could i know whether are there any other dealers that are offering a better price ?

Secondly, is there any common problems with the W212 ? Never had any experience owning a merc before hence i would need everyones guidance.

Was initially aiming at getting a BMW but things changed after talking to a few bmw owners. Many have faced various issues ranging from hydroclock shutdowns to steering rack issues.

Definately more than 10k .

Anythibg below and it will be very tight. My A250 service each time costs about 1-1.5k for normal service. Lets not go into the major ones . Those costs a bomb.

Change brake pad is 1k.

So yes its a high maintainence car.

But the joy it gives is great. Driving at 220kmh is done without sweat. Feels solid and planted whatever speed.
*
Not forgetting a piece of normal aircond filter cost 1.2k to replace at authorized dealer . But yes...it's a joy to drive! Also...u get lots of 'privileges ' by driving the 3 pointed stars. tongue.gif

Couldn't find much and reading the entire thread would take me ages lol. I managed to get a rough estimate price of servicing the car.

Though are there any issues that i should look into for the w212 ?

Tried googling and came across people complaining about the squeaky suspensions at low speed and having ABS issues.
*
Not much! Hey...W204 also have squeaky suspensions over rough patch of road. Dash board also got rattling sound. Worst is sway to the left issue on most 204. Think come jan you can easily squeeze another 10 k from the dealer for 2014 models.

80's Merc as in W123 or W124? Mind you Merc that were built back then were mostly over engineered. Reliability is top notch.

Totally agreed as my dad owned a124 before. Now my w204 a bit lite proton. Sounds everywhere! Only 36k in mileage and my gear box mounting has broken and need to be replaced! Thank god I am with 4 years warranty!
