the other camp says they like it because it is based on the w124 which was a brilliant car but prefer to but a SY because it is newer than getting an 80's merc which would have alot of hidden problems or been thru an accident hmm.gif

80's Merc as in W123 or W124? Mind you Merc that were built back then were mostly over engineered. Reliability is top notch.

engineering is rock solid but parts age

Still you can't compare a Kimchi with the mighty German right?
If worrying about parts being expensive than Merc is not the right brand for you biggrin.gif
*
buying a 1980 car in 2015 would roughly make that car 35 years old.
so no matter now well the parts are engineered and how good the quality the parts are they will age and have wear and tear.

so the malaysian used car market being as it is w124's between 1985-1991 is around 11k, and a 2001-2003 SY chairman is about the same price.

with both cars quite alike and have compatible parts between them, additionally older merc parts aren't crazy expensive so what would be going on in the mind of a buyer....

SY CM = 10 years wear and tear
W124 = 30 years wear and tear

or merc > all so just buy dun ask why brows.gif

Anyone experienced front parking sensor issues with A/CLA/GLA? Sensors going off for no reason even while stationary...SC said it's due to the sensor sensig the edges of the car registration plate and the only way is to get a smaller number plate sleep.gif any comments
*
this is the reason the government want to standardize the number plates on all cars?

I'd suggest you go take a look at BMW 328GT at BMW showroom and compare it with your 320.
320 and 118's cabins are puny.
That's all I can tell you.

QUOTE(xtracooljustin @ Mar 15 2016, 01:06 AM)
Zenix, 328GT is almost like a station wagon in a sense. Thats y its a lil bit more roomy.

don't so butthurt ALeUNe it is an open discussion not pin pointing u rolleyes.gif

F34 vs F30 vs F31

user posted image

as you can see the silhouette of the f34 and f31 has a higher roof line, this probably helps with the perception of space.

i've always felt 3-series are snug (not cramped) with a sports car like cabin (lower roof/shorter chair to pedal distance)

user posted image

you can see from this comparison the f34 is higher than the f31, so i think i understand what u mean by space.

however when talking about space/roominess i'd automatically think of merc's not bimmer's because merc's usually have the said two points of higher roof lines and longer distance from chair to pedal to give the feeling of roominess plus width (distance from door handle to door handle).

i can agree with you f34 is much improvement over f30 and e90 in terms of space provided but to me it is 2/3 as i feel width wise it's not longer than f30/f31.

i could be wrong as i'm basing all this on feel (and my body size) than actual manufacturers figures hmm.gif
