been more than 6 years still not profitable and living a somewhat failed life compare to taking other route. i am 25 this year , better rethink .

when will i succeed? i dont know. everyone different.

note that - you should still need a income other than forex. even after success .

I am using Ambank, they told me trading Forex is illegal and the funds are not permissible to withdraw. I was like  bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif

Use maybank or public bank. So far my withdrawal is fine with public bank. last resort is money laundering.

The prices does not tally with my broker, so I can't really check if they are profitable.
How's the performance so far?

Some banks blacklist forex brokers because trading forex is illegal in Malaysia. Unless you trade with out local banks.

Hi bro, what you mean by "with out local banks"?
*
You have to trade forex using the authorised brokers listed in BNM's website. Check the website to find out more.
The list is basically the our local banks and financial institutions. Also, you need quite a high capital to trade them, about $100k.

For prime brokerage, you need at least 10M. That's the last info I got about 2 years ago.

Local IB or Local depo is company/individu who act as representative for Forex broker. So, trader can make depo and withdraw with them without transfer direct to oversea.
*
It's a good way to avoid BNM. Also taxes if any.
I am looking for a reliable IB from a reliable broker.

Hi, just asking since I noticed that you are an IB. Do you do cash withdrawal?
Like I open up an account with you and for every withdrawal, it will go through you and you will pass the cash to me.

How is trading forex different to share market?

Is it true that buying shares means you own portion of the company, but for forex, you own the currency you purchased?
*
Forex's leverage is higher and your potential profit is higher, also your loss.

If you buy a company's share, you own the company. In forex, for most brokers, you don't own anything. You are purely gambling on the price. Unless you are trading with ECN brokers and the likes.

high leverage... trade small lot size... very safe!

Correct. The proper word here is the 'effective leverage'.

This allay my concern. Coz to me, if different brokers get to dictate their own prices, they could see what makes more profits to them.

E.g. if there are more investor betting against, say, USD to EUR, they can make them lose by indicating that the the USD fares better than EUR.

Anyways, what is pips?
*
Pip is the smallest value for calculating a price chance in spot forex.

A pip is equivalent to 0.0001 in EUR/USD pair.

A broker? Doesn't sound trustworthy. Go to the forex broker thread, they could have a better answer.

Usually end of year no big firms or major player will open positions. End of year is the time where most retail investor take profit or cut losses before the new year or Christmas holiday. Over this long period of uncertainty and quiet market, the low votality and volume in market will cost them much more if they open any large positions. That's why you see its usually quiet over these holiday festive.

QUOTE(Lupine101 @ Jan 1 2018, 09:39 AM)
If floating then they should be fine. They can't afford to open position if market don't have the liquidity. The size of their position will trigger movement in price and it would be expensive for them.
*
I find it a little contradicting. Correct me If I am wrong.

You mentioned that retail traders are taking profit or cutting losses, wouldn't that contribute to more liquidity?

Our retail orders won't matter much to this big forex market. Even some orders are likely being traded by brokers in house order book. All brokers are bucket shops, they will collect our orders and either hedge it themselves or pass to banks order book. That's why some brokers have different spreads. Best place to look for liquidity would be the spot everyone is looking at, where bankers hedge funds retail traders would place their limit orders. Example those Big round number, ever wonder why price always linger around these areas or attracted by it? That explains why.

Most big players they trade forex just to hedge their exposure in other market, maybe the options, maybe commodity. That's why they tend to hold these positions longer.
*
Thanks for the explanation.

Why have to PM. Just reply here so that others could learn.

You can use an EA or a script or an Indicator for Renko. Just go to forexfactory and search for renko charting.

Saw some posting about problem like money getting blocked because of forex income?
I'm likely gonna withdraw to CIMB or Maybank. Very new to this so wanna avoid any common pitfalls..
*
I think it depends on who your broker is. Some banks have the lists of 'blocked' forex borkers. If your broker is not on their lists then it should be fine.

I think no more tha Rm10k...otherwise BNM triggered
*
Is it RM10k a transaction or per day?
Also what's the amount for a month to get BNM triggered?

Because if 10k a transaction, one could do a 9k transaction once every day.
