Just go register and have a try for one month, and you decide by urself, no contract with maxis. so just go and register with maxis. i have 3 friends moved from celcom 3g to maxis 3g, they found maxis is better than celcom. I think in term of the coverage, celcom is better. but in term of stability maxis is the one. My friends told me. Celcom always changes from HSDPA to UMTS and sometime drop to GPRS. Normally my connection is fine more than 10 hours. for me if 3g network can sustains for more than that without disconnect, that should be fine. |

guys, m in sibu, sarawak, was wondering if there is this 3G broadband here. hmm. so in conclusion, will 3g be faster than streamyx?
Added on March 13, 2008, 11:04 amoh yah, if using 3g broadband, can i use my Dopod D810 PPC instead of getting that expensive 3G datacard modem? This post has been edited by uniquexme: Mar 13 2008, 11:04 AM |

Celcom 3G Broadband has a 5GB cap. Dunno whether it is strictly enforced. But it's in the T&C so you can't really complain.
The T&C btw, is laid out over 10 pages using Flash. You cannot copy the text or resize it. Check it out yourself at: http://www.celcom.com.my/cep/xresources/ce...band/index.html I find it amusing that they regard 5GB / month as "extremely high usage". In that case, they should not be advertising it as "unlimited". Screencapt attached. Attached thumbnail(s) |

See the problems with 3G broadbands?
Look below those tempting digits and you'll find extremely high pings. This is why streamyx is still preferred by so many Malaysians. |

Now no more getting 3.5G signal oledi...bloody maxis technician haven't turn the direction of 3.5G to my area although complaining for >1mth oledi!
Currently only enjoying normal UMTS speed of 380-450kbps Oppsss..b4 I forget I'm on Maxis 3G RM99 unlimited plan...which is diff from Maxis broadband....
