I used to take GrabCar to work last 2 months, about few days a week thanks to the promotion.

From my area, before 9am is peak hour, fare is about RM8-9. After 9am, the fare is about RM5-6. But that's 2 months ago

Today raining, so I want to take Grab again but I was shock to found that the peak hour fare is RM14! The cost increase so much and much faster than government.

Is it just me or happen to many places? From my house (near Mid Valley) to my work place is about 5 min drive to bangsar south. This is getting more expensive than metered taxi

Since past few days been raining in the morning and it is peak hour, Grab and Uber fare will increase 50-100%

Like other days my home to workplace fare around RM20-25, but yesterday and today up to RM54!

Petrol also getting more expensive

Book Grabtaxi if fares too high.

Peak hour RM1.40 per km
Non-peak hour RM1.10 per km

Base fare RM1

Surcharge kick in when there is high demand at your area, as u said your house is nearby Midvalley, that area will be subjected to surcharge as well. Nowadays lesser driver on the road and count yourself lucky if manage to get one on time to your office.

i guess its the same timing, but this time around it was raining.
so become more peak. more people want to use grab when its raining.

furthermore, i heard from uber/grab drivers, they dont like to drive when it rains.

so more people wants to use uber/grab, but less uber/grab drivers. Of coz the price will hike.

overall...sometimes when raining, rider will terpijak those sand and leaves and left inside the car..

The Grab minimum fare has gone up to RM5 in Klang Valley. So short trips are definitely more expensive now

Grab I have noticed is also getting more expensive. Especially during peak hours, the prices can spike up ridiculously. Especially if I compare it to uber nowadays, I've found that uber is cheaper. And plus on top of the price difference, they offer so many promo codes constantly which gives you an extra discount becoming even cheaper.

But what I do like about Grab is that they offer the service of grab share. It can be convenient for a longer commute for a lesser price.

if rider think fare is expensive, please use alternative at that particular time
if driver think dare is dam cheap, just stop driving at that particular time

Let laws of supply and demand prevail !

If too expensive...don't demand for it. Let Grab realize it and drop price.

As for drivers, if too cheap...don't drive. Go back home to the bussom of our wive and kids.

The only reason why its becoming expensive is because there are those that are willing to pay. As for drivers compensation, we too feel its getting not worth it, but there will always be new drivers keen to take passengers despite the low margins.

Exactly, if too expensive, don't die die must request for it then complain, complain expensive but driver not professional lar, complain car dirty lar, complain driver pickup slow lar, complain driver far away lar, there are always alternative around.

Same goes for driver, if feel fare to cheap, pickup distance too far, driving too stress, then don't die die wanna drive then complain rider not considerate lar, cheap fare but rider expect good service lar, car dirty lar. Even wanna complain just go complain to Grab, not take it out on rider. If Grab tak layan then nobody is forcing you to drive for them, there's always alternative way to generate income.

This is good reminder! Got so used to Grab/Uber.

Cause they are going to monopolize the market soon. I mean how many people still use UBER now?

Last year back then i was saying Grab sure find ways to make it profitable, impossible everyday give u promo and losing money.

Now it seems everybody is complaining, u must understand there is not much driver available on peak hour especially in high demand, look around your area, there is some other people fighting with u going back home too. This of course will churn up demand and cause massive surcharge.

Monopoly incoming

Grab is really cutting throat now. Very expensive when going to KLIA. Rm140-150 from country homes. If from airport is rm150-160++. Normal hours. Please compare price before proceed to Grab. After Uber is gone, they increase the price like no mother care. Haha

When Uber is gone, Grab going toward monopolize the market, I can foresee that we are going back to Taxi soon

You guys can download the apps and try to get the estimate fare to KLIA. So expensive and that is the estimated price. Will add rm5-10 if there is jam etc. Habis...

Monopoly is part of market condition which influences the price.

But it's not a monopoly with Uber gone. There is still the regular taxi. If Grab price rise too high people will go back to taxis.

If you feel that RM9 is unfair then take a taxi.

before grab n uber exist what do u use? well use back them its simple as that

U have to understand E hailing are not public transport, we re not subsidize by government

The pricing in them is base on DEMAND n SUPPLY , we re not ur LRT/KTM/MRT or mini bus

if u dont want high price, book early.
if price still high wait demand lower only book.

In old day, i either walked to a nearest main road (0.5 - 1km away) and wait there for a taxi, or call a taxi company to send a taxi to my door step.

Btw did u ever take bus mini or not? Ever heard how the infamous bus conductor yelled at u 'Masuk! Masuk! Masuk lagi!'?

Haha i only took taxi for 3 years and bus for 2 years in my old uni years

Then when i return back 2 the uni as an alumni visitors i see the taxi stand now become student car parking lot already

Goes 2 show old taxi is off 4 good and obsolete beyond repair just like VCR and VCD

Grab has Grab taxi, subject to additional RM2 additional charge and follow by meter.

If u don't like then u have Ezcab, mostly taxi and some car.

If u don't like then u have Mycar, mostly car.

10 years ago i was studying in Klang Valley, the public transport is much more horrible than now, the only public transport i have is Bus. LRT extension and MRT does not exist yet.

Bus mini is horrible, i once saw a passenger fly out from the door because the door isn't open and the driver turning in fast. Those bus are profit seeker and don't care much of your safety. Anyway i see now in Selangor also got freebus call Selangorku.

If u running out of option, then maybe your staying place is too far away and consider move to places where public transport easily available.

As i said in previous post, Grab is a profit seeking organization, rider now only realize how expensive is it after they remove the subsidies on rider.

Now the Limo is cheaper than grab. I compared it when back to from from KLIA. RM150++ grab. Rm120 for limo.

It still reasonable to me but the price during surge seems too expensive. Almost double the normal price.

When the ride is expensive u rate the driver 1star... Now how the rider relate 1star to driver bcos of the price, I kenot brain at all... U wanna complain, complain to GRAB please. Do not take it out on the drivers especially for us drivers that safely brought you to your destination with no problem at all...

The older days... you rate lahh ur mini bus, mega bus, lrt, mrt, taxis.... see if anything can be done to improve. Whatever price you paid... We provide the service... If it too expensive... do not book it or worse, book it then penalize the innocent driver... PLease act maturely.

The expensive surge happen bcos you wanna ride in that specific hour... You no request, driver no ping in, surge go down and problem solve...

If you think Grab monopoly is bad for riders, It will be bad for us drivers too... Please support another ehailing company so that they can be a rival to Grab.

Or go back to taxi or other public transport if you think that's cheaper.

Why rider don't complain when driver only get RM5-RM10 fare for being stuck in jam for 1 hour or more? You know after deduct 25% commission, driver left with how much?

Last time everybody complain taxi didn't use meter. Now taxi use meter also nobody want. Why? Because all want cheap only.
