today @ True Fitness Jaya33. RM 175 x 24 can get 42 months assess.
they will charge your credit card one time RM 4xxx and then activate the zero interest payment plan. the bank will charge x% but TF will pay for that. in return you pay your credit card in monthly installment RM 1xx.
the agreement clearly said a few things
. you have to pay no matter what, use or not use
. if not paid or delay payment, they can charge u another rm15 fee
. they can also charge you more for legal notices etc. collecting the money from you
. they can close down any outlet anytime, you will 'have to' go to the 'nearest' outlet even if that is singapore
. the suspend feature is only for pregnant and medical reason, not like what the consultant said 'u can stop anytime'.
in above case, u actually paid TF in full. Then your bank deals with u. So if you don't pay, now you get the BANK to hassle you which in that case TF is the pure winner as it doesn't even bother anymore if u pay ur credit card or not. bank usually wins and they can bad list u and then you can't even get house loan, biz loan etc.
after u sign the contract with TF, the only way you can stop paying is if you die. then you are 'released' from the terms and condition of your signed contract.
all these can be term under "unfair contract", and you can bring it to the tribunal to get your money back. but be careful on what you said in front of the tribunal judge, all 'contracts' are NOT under the jurisdiction of tribunal unless you mentioned the magic word "unfair contract" and emphasize that you are a 'consumer'.
all this 'public money thing' - collect money up front for a service more than 12 months of services ... required special permit. I don't know if they have one or not but when I asked for the prospectus, no one seems to know what it is.
