maybe, i ll be interested in this FE in months ahead ( see how) but not for now.

upgrade from S5 to note FE.. love the phone.. only scare it will easy drop off from my hand..
the phone is good enough for my normal usage. got tis phone coz it pricing (400 discount from retail price) and screen saiz.. not coz its-pen..

Agree....I also feel the phone a little 'slippery' due to the edge screen...😅

But yeah, love the screen size and the with the discount makes it a better buy...😊

My phone is registered. Apparently to get the free 1 year extended warranty and 1 year screen protection, I was told to send the following details to careline_my@samsung.com

I did and gotten a reply and they say they will send me the certificate in 14 days time.

For registration warranty please insert NAME, CONTACT NUMBER, IC NUMBER, ADDRESS/LOCATION,
MODEL, SERIAL NUM, IMEI, PROVE OF PURCHASE ( SCAN AND ATTACH IN EMAIL ), DATE OF PURCHASE.

Note FE is a good phone but my wife dont allow me to consider it due to the KABOOM incident.

dude that news was so yesterday... its practically a different phone. non of those old note 7 unit were used to produce this one and its hell use different battery. tell your wife to get a grip.

both my wife and me are using note 3 and fancy on the Note series performance.

I will bring her to have it a look when passby samsung shop.

it will be one hell of update from note 3. But still note 3 still alive after all these years... really great phone. i hate them for changing the snote to samsung note on note FE and note 8... really miss the action memo function. the one on the samsung note kind of not to my liking.

Still can pin at home screen and always on display no worries

i still use note 3 too old i looking upgrade phone
i still thinking buying note fe

I am using latest SNote in my note 5. Action memo is there. Samsung already bring back Action memo. You need explicitly install Action memo app from Samsung.

Can pin action memo on home screen still?

I always pin action memo with things to do. Things to buy. Things that need attention. To remind me everyday.

Very useful to track my chores and to do.

I always have 2 or 4 action memos for work and for home stuff pin on the screen. Which is adjustable in size.

I'll see in few months how. I'm really a note person.

Since I've bought a new phone to replace my ageing and troublesome note edge. I'll use it for a while.

And since Samsung no longer has IR blaster remote on their devices. I'll wait till one day if it makes a return in future.

For me it ain't complete without IR blaster on. So used to it on note edge.

does anyone knows how to get Live messages to work on the Note FE ?
got the 3 files but seems like the Note FE is preventing "samsung nueral Beta keyboard" from installing saying clashing due to same name app is installed.
xda does not have any info for Note FE

I read somewhere that need to wait for Android 7.1 update to install Live Message as someone managed to install it in S8/S8+ which has 7.1...

So hopefully Samsung will bring Live Message to Note FE you in the next software update

you sure we have to be on 7.1 only can install the live message ?
if that's the case better just wait until Oreo comes to the FE.

the 5 MP front cam is quite a bummer.. does it really perform that bad? heard that if use for video call the camera quality is very very bad.. i'm still considering Note 7 FE now that the price is much more attractive compared to note 8

Haha... normally Samsung would want to leave something extra for their latest flagship Note device. Based on historical events, they will introduce the feature to older note device later... No guarantee but hopefully the Note FE will get that feature in the future...

I don’t use the max resolution (WQHD). I just use at FHD as its already darn gorgeous to look at and gives me more batt life. Wouldn’t see the difference IMO. More time using the phone, less worrying abt the batt draining.

For me at FHD, with Always on Display on, it got me at least 4hrs++ and max I got on a less straining workday was 5hrs++. Not up to par with my previous A7 2017 though which easily clocks in 7hrs+, but then again, the Note FE is a different machine altogether.

nver had problm with any devices before this except for this FE
i download a notification sound. when i want to change my notification sound, the sound is not in the list of notification sound. the downloaded file however can be found in the file manager though.
but no problem with downloaded wallpaper

Transfer the file to internal storage \ Notifications
Then,
Set it at setting\Sound and vibration\Ringtone\Notifications

Be careful ... i have already tried that and a couple more different Snote version awhile back on my FE and all causes screen freeze and action memo will 100% freeze on top of your screen blocking everything untill you restart phone.

Same problem. Some workaround

Set the sound to notification first to get it set into the notification setting.

Tried dloading but cannot get set in the notification. So tried to set it as notification first and see if it got saved in notification and it work for me. Now can set it for whatsapp and telegram.

You are right, hence I have since edited the post, however, to all Note FE users, can you try to download S Note v5.2.04.25 apk, install it and see if Action Memo works?

I tried on my device, it install fine and everything works except Action memo... just want to ascertain whether it is due to FE firmware as Note 8 users managed to get Action Memo to work by installing older version of S Note.

You need to install Action Memo app from apk mirror.

I did nothing to my note 5. Non rooted. I install every latest version of s note. And one day i install action memo app from apk mirror. Found out s note got action memo ady.

Because many ppl don't know Samsung released action memo app.u can find in apk mirror.

the latest Snote already have action memo but samsung decides to be a d**K and disable it
so installing again the apk when you already have will show "app not install" cause clashing.
I have tried it ages ago...

and even if you manage to install it's still buggy ... there is a video on it on youtube.

still pal if you manage to get it working well, pray do tell / share.

I install without problem..and i don't feel buggy or laggy. Maybe i not notice carefully. Anyway this is wat i know to share.

Samsung like to take away useful things. Making things inconvenient.

Eg. Action note..... Etc etc.... and ( the one I want) IR

I remembered that time that:

Note 4 > Note 5... they took away removable battery, expandable storage
Note 5 > Note 7... they quickly put back the expandable but still no removable battery but gave curved screen.

But dun let the IR blaster be a deal breaker for the Note FE... I got this Note and still keeping my Note 4 as back up for other things including the IR blaster uses.

I have similar experience, if you install S Note v 5.2 above, it'll install and work properly but no Action Memo,
If you install S Note v 5.1.xx , got Action Memo but very buggy...I even have to restart my FE as the Action Memo just hanged and covered my entire screen😅

Tried to install Action Memo apk, can't install as it says
'app not installed the package conflicts with an existing package by the same name'...

I'm still keeping my note edge as secondary phone. Initially I intended to buy the note FE when launched on 25 the October. But no IR. I straight buy honor 8 Pro as replacement until..... Samsung one day makes IR a return.... LOL!

I don't use IR at all and doesn't miss it!!

I think the curved screen pushes up the cost of screen replacement. In comparison, Apple's screen are so much cheaper.
