bro almostthere, after i install my proc,my bios can config one thing call "frequency unlimit",which can be set to enabled or disabled.
if i enable,i can set my multiplier to 60x!!!!!
how come like that?
*
Because it's meant for the older generation Pentium's which had very high multipliers beyond 15. In fact if you read properly the comment of it in the BIOS, it tells exactly that. It's actually meant purely for ES P4's AFAIK

I got my E6600 to boot at 3.6Ghz (400x9), but it crashes (BSOD) when loading Vista.
vcore: 1.43v, vNB=1.46v, vTT= 1.325v. Hmm, gotta try again.

p/s: Works fine at 3.2Ghz though (356x9)
*
drop the multi to an 8 and see whther it's an FSB or clockspeed problem. And 3.6Ghz would require a bit more VCore IMHO. But try revising your advanced timings if I were you

Manage to pull off a decent SuperPI. Will try more, aiming 3.5Ghz and above.  brows.gif

On full load, vcore is at 1.376v.

Quite good and consistent with clock's scaling. Mine does 18.453s at 3.2Ghz so your's is quite expected TBH

wah ace combat quad core can run at 3.0ghz.....nice.....can post some screen shot,

btw i have a question over here, anyone have problem with the on board sound during OC, it seems my onboard sound is giving me problem after 320mhz....eventhough it's super PI and orthos steady, the sound does not work properly. any idea how to trouble shoot on this.
*
Can't help you directly on that as I decided on day 1 to use a soundcard instead. But my guess personally is you may have to jack up your VNB a bit to see what's the prob. Seems from my observation the ICH isn't responding correctly when you scale the FSB. Remember that your MCH is located in there too and if you're running at lower multipliers, you're actually effectively running a higher divisionary NB clock speed

if you're still not sure what I'm saying, this seems a better explanation

pity me,but syok la,think to buy one X6800 to play and keep this QX6700....
bro almostthere, this time,i'm really an intel certified extreme's eggs boiler laugh.gif

@lexus65,wait for my screenie.

LOL, back to Pentium 4 days huh? Me, if I'm going to go Quadie, I'm gonna wait for the 45nm versions (ala Penryn and gang) before I make my decision as I suspect it's gonna be running much cooler (95W TDP for Q6600 is a hint) since I noticed the G0 stepping C2D's (Those of E6X50 series) are running at MUCH lower VCore. In fact IINM, booting voltage is around 1.0v stock and FCG managed to OC a E6550 at 7*550Mhz using 1.36v only

dun worry bout the price la. AFAIK, it'll be around how much we're paying for post 22nd July. The question is around August when DFi launches their P35 and X38 mobo's. I know X38 will be for Lan Party but will the P35 be our Dark's worthy successor?

Btw, anyone here doing over 600MHz in memory clock?

none yet since no sweet core among em LYN'ers . Highest I've seen is about 500Mhz+. On dividers I don't know yet

like i said previously, it's not the 1333Mhz strap that's the reason. It's compliance to PWM11.1 specifications to allow C2E power management. Sigh, again and again about 1333mhz straps which none of it is true

bios rom checksum error - system halted
any clue on why these error message appear?
2weeks old dfi 965-s board

bad BIOS flash case there. Usually for DFi boards (Been there too many times already), you need to (If using windows based flasher) unload all software which are running, select all options for flashing and set CLEAR CMOS before proceeding with flash. And post flashing, always reboot and set Default settings to get it to relearn some values before you proceed with anything else. Trust me, it works since I've learnt that to prevent dead BIO's on my good old nForce2 (Very nuisance the hot flash job)

ok, i oledi set the ram timings to 5-5-5-12.
last saturday, tried orthos for about 2 hrs, n its stable on 3.2ghz..
but today, my rig keep crashing.... when i try to copy movies from my dvdr, it sumtimes just hang, n need to restart... this also happens when i try to run orthos... just after 3 mins, the pc 'freezes' while orthos didnt hav any problems (it hangs when cpu freezes, but no error)...
but, i can continuously play age of empires 3 for 2 hrs without any probs...
anyone can help? mellow.gif

sounds like a NB instabillity issue. Sort the cooling of the NB first and then bump up the VNB up by about 10% of stock voltage. Happened to me too

well, currently im using dark stock cooler for NB.. no space for aftermarket cooler after i use xigmatek's for my proc... but the temp is ok, around 30-35 all day... i'll try increase the vnb later.. thx.
*
there's no need to swap for an aftermarket cooler IMHO for the Dark unless you're going extreme. What I'd suggest is to disassemble the stock cooler, wipe that gunk of a TIM plasticine like nonsense, clean everything up properly (use alcohol please), and apply proper thermal paste on it. Then ensure there's good airflow thru it. That'll do the trick

Hey guys, can you post a link of a valid modded bios download?

I'm currently running on E6300@3451MHz (493x7) with Dfi official latest bios.Tried up Vcore etc but couldn't go further than that.Hope i'm not hitting the FSB wall yet. sweat.gif

Or if you have an account in XS, you could always ask Tony to cook up something for you. Make sure you specify what RAM your using and what's your actual goal
