relax guys, face the fact
it's better than sending bunch of players into the grand final and cant even make it out of the group stage. Some might think if we send more players, the possibility of getting better results will be higher, but history shows it all...we are not there yet

...and it's not all about money.. reputation counts too

to be frank,

since WCG champ has all the xbox 360 games and especially Gears Of War and most of us are playing GOW regulary....

the organiser should re-consider it. imho, it sucks to have everysame shit for every same year. RTS, CS, NFS, FIFA shakehead.gif

well above is just my plain shit opinion. plus in the end of the day, IN2 cares bout money n business so who cares bout you console gamers, as long as they manage to earn enough money from pc gamers.... doh.gif
*
wow hahaha
if in2 cares bout money n business why they change veneu to midvalley leh?? why they now consider not to put any participating fees leh?

We are never there cuz most game are dominated by South Korean such as Starcraft and Warcraft. Those games are like a sports to them (Koreans). They have leagues and tournament every single months ... so they practice alot more than us. I have to stay out Mas-1 team for Starcraft have been doing quite well in the pass. Correct me if im wrong.

that, i agree

the number of practice, competition and traning have far outpast us

my only regret - is that even CS we didnt make it look good

we're already pretty bad rated in the 'traditional' sports - kinda hoping this different kind of sport is where we can at least stand up high

A lot of drawbacks had been keeping malaysian gamers from growing;-
1) Lack of sponsors
2) Lack of facilities (blame streamyx)
3) Lack of commercialization
4) Lack of tourney consistency
5) Lack of international gaming exposure
6) and last but not least, too much of ignorant and arrogant gamers.

What happened to those days when WCG and ESWC was so notorious, it was like a rave party at each event. fingers crossed for starcraft and warcraft.

p/s: what happened to Malaysia's ESWC?

This i agree .. it all end up to sponsorship and award money prizes. We are certainly lack of this. Once a year, Malaysia have a huge tournament such as WCG is just aint enuff.

That's true but have you ever thought of the fact that console gaming still fresh & just got competitve since halo 2 only, unlike pc where there are swarm of "elite warrior"

So the chances of us winning something is higher...just for example last WCG there were a big buzz over the Singapore DOA champion fighting with the japan no.1

So if you ask me, the chances of us winning Counter Strike tourney with 100 participant or Gear of War with 10 participant? (not the real figure laugh.gif )
The last i check, Malaysian joining WCG is just taking part in one of the world event. If we were afraid of losing, we shouldn't join any tourney at all...it's not like we are at world-class standard now tongue.gif

BTW, download my Music Video~ GOW 4 Life
4 king etc got clan video/montage and such. We malaysian GOW player also got nod.gif

*run away avoiding egg thrown by gamers hideout & console couch peepz.

hehe, pro-gamers from oversea or local?
For oversea, they have their sponsor's cybercafe OR high bandwidth and steady connection.

We, locals, play on streamyx connecting to oversea server has terrible amount of unpredictable jitter. If we play in cybercafes, how many can afford the RM2.50-RM3.00/hour rate of daily trainings?

Sponsors might not be the vital reason, but influencial enuff, no?

I scramble them down not from my opinion. Those were my experience. While angmohs are encouraging their gamers to go pro, we are discouraging ours. ain't it?

I agree with what you said about the game being dominated by the S.Koreans but I disagree with what you said about 'we are never there'. If you actually checked the results of last year's SC player who represented us(M1 - Cobo), he actually defeated a S.Korean player whom I believed was ranked in the top 10 players in the world! I heard there were even people asking for M1-Cobo's autograph after staging that big upset!

I understand the sponsor's decision in eliminating games where there's 'no chance' to go far like SC and WC3 and focus on 'realistic' games such as Fifa but I feel that the sponsors should then send more players on the 'realistic' games and maybe send just one for SC or WC3, not eliminate games as the games have a big number of support here too.

I'm not saying that the game deserve to be in the official game list in the my.WCG but WC3 and SC has already been there for SO LONG and to just eliminate them suddenly without explanation is just unacceptable.
