I will tell you one thing.

They really have the best network in Malaysia. All their dealers are linked, their supplies and parts can be viewed from whichever dealer you are at - it's all for everyone to see. Even the pricing is controlled and standardized across Malaysia, doesn't matter which dealer you go to - the price is the same across the board.

No other car manufacturer in Malaysia comes close to the kind of connectivity they have. Last I heard, Honda was implementing a system to link up all the dealers like Toyota, so was the case with VW ... not sure if they have actually accomplished that or not.

The entire network already there. Doesn't matter what they do now.
In recent years, their focus have been solely on higher profitability like Hyundai/Kia. Maybe this is one of those strategies that they think will help them cut cost.
