Why you say so? I thought it has been 1.5% this while (based on 10. July.19 TnC)

Also the new TnC (11.Jan.20) there is no cap for the deposit bonus...so the revised TnC looks slightly better offer...

ah sorry - my stupid brain keep thinking priv saver is 2 + 2 + 2.. forgot about the base 0.5%

No change to the Spend bonus. However, the Wealth category +2% will only be applicable to New-to-Wealth clients - those who enjoyed the benefit for 12 months+ will no longer qualify.
*
Good catch. Means Privilegesavers is only really a 4% account...

a lot don't realize that Priv Savers is 2.5% >100k which is better than a lot of savings accounts in the market.

if you already deposit 3k a month etc for the 4% you can make this account your primary account. MEPS for ATM is free when u hit the 3k deposit monthly anyway

I think it is better now right? With 3.00% + 1.2% promotional = 4.2%

The current highest % within promotion period.
*
there is a fine print.. only applicable to tiers below RM200k

so max of 2.75% only.. once u hit above 200k its 3% without gimmicks

new product with  3.00%p.a. eh....?

BNM later announce reduce OPR, will they reduce?

if they don't reduce, then it's pretty good for those who looking for cash liquidity and has 200k after SCB & OCBC. LOL
*
as per vrek it seems they have been revising .. tho no idea on frequency.

Just started my first job. Looking for a savings account with high interest. Is Standard Chartered PSA still the best if I just wanna dump money in and earn interest? Not paying any bills as I still live with family and my spending only around 500 per month, so can save a lot.

I have looked around:
1. Standard Chartered PSA - 2.1% (Won't be able to fulfill the other conditions consistently)
2. OCBC 360 -  1.65% (Can fulfill deposit and spend category)
3. RHB Smart Account - 1.85%
4. UOB ONE Account - 1.65%

Seems like PSA still gives you the best interest even if you just wanna dump money in and not fulfill any spending conditions. Any other suggestion?
*
take PSA and apply for a JOP card. if you have insurance / petrol.. you can use the card and load the rest up to 2.5k to bigpay and withdraw. That will allow you to meet the credit card spend for 3.6%

Not sure, I think she mean savings part but did not mention spending and invest part. I didn't ask further as not interested at that time.

BTW the offer is only for six months deposit.
*
your bank officer also forgot to mention it is for new to bank Premium (100k - 249k) and Priority customers (>250k) only.

Promo used to be on the website but is currently verbal only.

Yeah she did mention about Premium account. Too much info like investments for me to remember. All I want is just PSA & CC laugh.gif
*
yeah it is 1-time only. once u lose your virgin status .. later when want to get it also cannot.

basically once u put in >RM100k with SC, if you don't take up the fd offer now, you lose it forever

If your MAB is RM 3k to 4k, then you earn 1.65% pa
If your MAB is RM 50,001, then you earn 2.15% pa
*
note the term "maximum"

if MAB is 50,001. u earn 1.65% * RM50000 and RM1 * 2.65%. EIR is not 2.15%

You can use debit card with 360 for spending.

QUOTE(Hobbez @ Sep 28 2020, 10:36 PM)
Debit card not suitable for my spending circumstances. I am planning to spend online at foreign site, not local. And I doubt they accept debit cards.
*
i won't recommend direct usage due to

1) exposure of your entire account balance to fraud
2) most foreign shopping website have somewhat weaker security

that said, being a debit card you can top up to ewallets. Since you plan on spending on foreign websites, u can top up to Bigpay which in the past has very good forex rates. your fraud exposure is also limited by how much u maintain in the card, and you can withdraw up to RM2k monthly quite easily via transfer (which depending on your situation, can be used to cycle into the account for the monthly deposit requirement)

What do you think about OCBC Frank? Worth to open? https://www.frankbyocbc.com.my/
*
i would say it is a simple way to get 1.8% p.a which is better than some of the other accounts offered by other banks. certainly makes their smartsavers obsolete.

Anyone signing up - just move 100% to save pot since they will auto adjust balance with no penalty to u
