I just opened an RHB Smart Account, but when I tried to use instant transfer from my other banks (e.g. SCB and Maybank) into the account, it failed. Is this normal?

then 1-Nov switch to SCB, 1-Dec switch back to Hsbc, is that the strategy?

I've been transferring 100k every first of the month, then transferring out 99,995 just before the end of every month to SCB PSA / RHB Smart / OCBC 360 since the programme launched a couple of years ago. Used to be 5% before this whole covid thing.

Just be prepared to get a few calls from HSBC from time to time. I've always been honest and said - "because you put the condition incremental balance... if you give me same interest on the balance I will lock in 100k forever".

Bonus interest will be credited within 8 weeks... 🤔

It doesn't normally take that long. Usually a month and I've never had problems with interest calculation...always accurate.

For type of saving acc to receive 1.75%, Must it be HSBC Amanah saving acc type or normal HSBC saving acc?
*
Mine is normal HSBC Premier.

To become a member of HSBC Premier, this is considered "normal"? hmm.gif
*
Yes it's a relatively low requirement for Premier. Im sure it's their KPI to sign people up for Premier as I was rejected by 2 HSBC branches when I tried to open a Basic account (on the basis that can't just open an account without a real purpose) but when I complained to the GM of my home branch he was hard selling Premier. Makes no sense since I don't use any of their facilities.

No need minimum assets under management etc. I literally only use it for 100k in and out every month, no other products with them and never talk to my RM.

So you attain HSBC Premier membership by meeting this requirement?

Yes, no other condition.

more often than not, the story teller left out some vital information that led to that.

Yeh, I would like to believe it too.

But there is a lot of detail in the story that is concerning in itself.

The thing I find most questionable is that it involved money being taken from 2 banks, but the victim is only going after 1 (after failing to get a refund). Victim should surely be going after 2 banks regardless of refund status, if both systems allowed the fund transfers so easily (supposedly without any information being given by the victim).

PSA: Just checking if any RHB Smart Account holders here>

Received someone else's bank account statement via email yesterday. Was shocked because the statement was password protected with details tailored to me. Opened up and saw full statement for someone else. Anyone else in same boat?

Thanks for sharing.

Use of the phrase "rectifies on same day" is misleading as the statements were sent on 16, and the apology email on 17. Further, I'm not sure how it was "rectified" since the statements are already in the hands of others.

It's like saying something was stolen, and the next day an apology was sent, but the stolen items have not been retrieved.

Strange concept of rectification.

it should reflect the next day. Make sure your fpx comes from your UOB One account and not from your Debit card account
