If you're an existing customer, I guess you would've received an email informing you of your Monthly Average Balance (MAB) Goal + details of the campaign.

Curious how CIMB decided this number and what's everyone's number, if any?

***Important TNC:
QUOTE
*Bonus Interest / Profit is only paid on the portion of Monthly Average Balance (MAB) that exceeds
the assigned MAB Goal, calculated up to the first RM75,000 of MAB per Eligible Customer(s) per
Campaign Month, from which the MAB Goal stated in the Campaign Invitation will be deducted.
Basically it means the 4 p.a. bonus only applies to the excess amount above your MAB! So if your MAB is 45k and you throw in 45k, it's still 0 bonus p.a. laugh.gif

is that means, could have keep it at minimum balance?

If by minimum balance you mean the "MAB goal", then no. Keeping it right at the goal means you get 0 bonus, because the bonus only applies to the excess. That's how I understood the examples and TNC.

Long story short, promotion for them, not so much for you lol

Haha the "4% bonus return" return sounds like a clickbait. The effective rate is never as high as 4% p.a.

Suggest you to change the thread description, pretty misleading to me...  tongue.gif

Lol good point, modified now. At least with more stars like how they love it laugh.gif

all gimmicks only to trick people
if your MAB so high effective rate will be very low...

such lousy offer bettre ignore them
when you can easily get 3.5 to 4% from digital apps or KDI

Ohh yours CIMB preferred seems to have more favourable rates. I mean, the bar is much higher yes, but at least I think the bonus applies to the whole RM 250k (the target MAB) in your example?

RM 45k MAB for kuli plebs like me is stupid as hell because I not only have to sacrifice interest of the base RM 45k, on top of that only the exceeded amount of up to RM 30k is applicable for the 4% (due to 75k limit). Like, it's quite scummy they're obscuring the mathematics behind, as if assuming most people wouldn't do the maths or read the TNC.

Meanwhile KDI and Versa can provide almost 4% without this much gatekeeping and it applies to the whole amount to a certain extent. I have 0 reason to break my other piggy banks to flatten THEIR piggy bank.

Interesting sharing though, I did not expect such differences with the Preferred.
