QUOTE(The Chauvinist @ Jan 30 2019, 07:45 PM) I am not sure. My eAccount is SA, and on UOB website it's interest rate is under SA. Doesn't have.Do you have CASA with UOB? If not, highly unlikely. I have submitted the application but unable to process further. No reason given and ask me to go the nearest branch. Called CS but they unable to provide the reason also! |

QUOTE(The Chauvinist @ Jan 30 2019, 08:08 PM) Same when I tried to apply last time. Had to go to branch. CS told me that amount to open the account is RM 100 min only! Heads up - the UOB officer may hard sell you their investment products. I was told that RM10k FD placement was one of the requirements to open eAccount. As I always do my research before signing up for anything, I had saved their website and downloaded the T&C and PDS prior. I asked for the manager, showed her everything, and she gladly instructed the officer to open my account. |

Finally I opened the UOB e-Account.
The branch staff forced me to take the Debit-ATM card. Is this compulsory? |

QUOTE(digimon09 @ Feb 12 2019, 11:31 AM) 1.Your balance should be between >20k and < 50k on ONE account I know the requirements.2.Spend RM500 on UOB Credit Card and/or Debit Mastercard every month 3.Pay 3 bills (min RM50 per bill) via UOB Personal Internet Banking or deposit minimum RM2,000 via Interbank GIRO/instant transfer every month *Base on my understanding from the website to achieve 4.28% p.a What I meant is it easy to attain? |

QUOTE(nbi @ Feb 13 2019, 01:25 PM) https://www1.uob.com.my/personal/save/savin...ne-account.page So just maintain RM 50,001 in the balance of ONE account.*Maximum effective interest rate (E.I.R.) of 3.48% p.a. is calculated based on RM50,000 deposits balance in ONE Account. Spend RM 500 on the linked UOB CC. Pay 3 bills from PIB or inward transfer of RM 2k from other banks. I'll be getting 4.28% right? |

QUOTE(nbi @ Feb 13 2019, 07:57 PM) visit the site again, and then u will know that for that rm50001 I still don't understand the First RM 10k, Next RM 20k and another Next RM 20kMax E.I.R* 3.48% p.a. First RM 10K Next RM 20K Next RM 20K Above RM 50K 2.28% p.a. 3.28% p.a. 4.28% p.a. 3.00% p.a. Doesn't that sum up to be RM 50k average balance in the account? QUOTE(terrysoh @ Feb 14 2019, 12:07 AM) David, I agreed with you.I come across that too, figure out awhile before i give up. It is probably just a marketing gimmick to attract people/confuse value seekers like us. E-Account still rocks that all day long. I think better stick with lesser headache UOB e-Account. |

QUOTE(terrysoh @ Feb 22 2019, 10:22 AM) David, Thanks for the tips.I confirmed with you here that UOB E-Account doesnt need Debit card. I went to UOB and create an E-Account. I did specifically asked If I am required to take the Debit card, which i got a Yes. I then proceed to transfer immediately. However, I used to have credit card with UOB, and there is an existing online account with username and password, which I no longer remember. UOB needs to reset that and make a new account, and they asked me to come back in a few days. (No debit card was issued at that point) When I got back a few days later, the staff proceeded to make a new online account for me, and once everything is done, Voila, no debit card was issued at all. My account is functional like normal, tried sending and receiving money. It is evident that account can be created without Debit card, but they resist doing that unless you really press/they forgot. I'll cancel the Debit Card next year. RM 8 has been charged! |
