If for own stay, buy old condo if you really like the location and renovation and you can move in with minimal / no work done. I think it's harder to get loan for old properties? Since there might be a big difference between evaluated price and selling price.

New property, you can renovate to your heart's content... provided you have the cash of course ... and facilities are more up to date...
