Hello just got my xbox360 last saturday and have a few queries:

1. Can I use the normal usb wifi adapter instead of the original xbox wireless adaptor to connect to xbox live?

2. Do I have to connect through the console to create an xbox live account in order to get the gold 1 month trial?
