Xbox360 newbie questions

Hello just got my xbox360 last saturday and have a few queries:
1. Can I use the normal usb wifi adapter instead of the original xbox wireless adaptor to connect to xbox live? 2. Do I have to connect through the console to create an xbox live account in order to get the gold 1 month trial? Thanks a lot in advance! Have a great day! |

1. I guess not...ya, curses Microsoft....
2. Yup? If you do it on the pc, you just get Silver account. (but i think you can still activate your 1-month-gold trial once you activate your acc on Xb360) Thread closed.
