No price drop and fiber coverage expansion mentioned in the article. Clearly they wish to maintain the ARPU for streamyx user because they know, most of their revenue came from streamyx, which overcharged so much especially those who stuck with 1Mbps that paid RM110 for it!

Facing the degradation of quality since TM 'upgrade' the cabinet where I am connected to now. First my ping shot to between 40 to 50, previously around 20 and below. SNR dropped significantly under 10 from almost 30 previously. Complaint, and they reduced my port to 9303 from 10239 previously. They said my speed is still achieved around 7 to 8mbps despite the lower set up by them. Streamyx is really a sheet now.

Anyway, have you try to check whether your house address got unifi lite now? Even same price of rm129 as of 100mbps, I think that should be much cheaper than what you’re currently paying rm160 for 8mbps.

The system respond that unifi is coming soon, checked from a miloaois site, my address is now fall under SUBB, previously non.

If miloais tool site stated that the max supported speed is 10mbps and your area falls under SUBB, most probably you would be able to subscribe for Unifi Lite already. Tmpoint and some agents still carry out the unifi lite, but yeah rm129 lah per month which you can get 100mbps with that price sad.gif

Later in the afternoon got the new speed already..

How much did u pay for the broadband speed ?
*
Paid rm160 for about 3 years (since early 2013) and got rm30 discount after my non stop complaining at tmpoint and mcmc about unavailability of unifi at my area.

Then, sometime in 2017 (november I think), TM introduced the short life package known as streamyx bonanza which 8mbps costs only rm89 and price will revert back to rm140 after two years of contract period.

I terminate the old package and apply the bonanza one. Now, I still pay rm89 before sst and hopefully this coming september I only need to pay rm69 as what TM announced recently under their so called ‘khabar baik’ whatever.

Hope ur area cover by fiber broadband soon.

Reduce the broadband price is not so important....

Upgrade the broadband to fiber is more important.

TBH, I'm willing to fork out much more money just for the sake of fibre broadband. Well, below RM200 for HSBB shouldn't be a problem for me.
Unfortunately, it's still a long journey to go before I can feel it. sad.gif

Living in rural area is like a 'death penalty' for those who are seeking for high speed broadband connectivity.

Yes, my at my home every mobile telco have at least 4G/4G+ (digi) with three to four bar signal but for me, nothing beats wired. Unifi air? That's totally BS. Yes, they can guarantee user will get the minimum speed of 20Mbps for the time being, but what will happen when the transmitter tower got congested? Surely it will affect the speed so much. dry.gif

Ya.. congratulations for the new speed. 8mbps should be enough for regular usage with 1-3 people in the house. But the upload speed totally unreliable and unusable for today standard. I think the unifi lite subb user are the one who pay best bang for the bucks every month with the price reduction that tm introduced recently. Rm69/month for 10mbps download and 5mbps upload speed is the best deal ever compared to 8mbps with 512kbps upload speed.

Regarding the ‘port availability’ thingy, I think it shouldn’t be happened at the first place. Since you’re already subscribed for the streamyx service, it mean that the port already reserved for you. What tm will do if you’re requesting for upgrade is just raise the speed cap from their side. I might be wrong though.

Will it need to wait for this , approval and etc and that takes few month to upgrade ? Anyone successfully upgrade ?
*
Err... for my case, I got upgraded within few hours only after I request for upgrade and submit my thumbprint at the local Tmpoint.
